Okay, I watched it. I should not call what I have Spurrs profile. What I got was a chart that I suppose DS made up using Hydrobuddy maybe. He was having tissue samples from petioles tested and he came up with a nutrient guide which can be used from veg through final flowering. I guess from the tissue sampling, as i remember from reading the thread, is that with this formulation using GH three part, protekt, Bot. Calmag, and epsom you end up with a nute profile that will provide all the plants needs through flower and he also found out through this testing that although you can increase NPK strengths the plant will only uptake a certain amount that it needs and I suppose through this testing he came up with some optimal values. If you are interested let me know and I will find the thread again if you want to read it. I think it was from when he set up that dispensary.

I did like the part about adjusting for ideal PH and total alkalinity. Thanks. I have been meaning to get the different adjusting chemicals.

What happens if you brew caps tea for a week or longer? Does it cause serious problems? Can you add more than just the cup per gallon?

You can add as much as you want... I like to use it straight concentrated as a top drench to soak the first few inches of my coco mix with it. I also add it to the res @ 1 cup per 5 gallons. Brewing tea for a week is possible if you maintain food source and oxygen. I do not recommend it myself, but there are folks doing it.I have a tea now I forgot about it is 4 days old, and starting to smell rancid to me...

Cool! I used up most of the juice in my five gallon bucket and was lazy and just added more water and molasses. I figured that the bacteria would just multiply it self, but I didn't want to cause any harm. And I have been putting 1gal per 30gal of water, plants look great, but I do need to start following directions. Thanks

I started a new lab recently and this one is not in soil, its a ebb and flo system the cap 48 with 55 gal rez. What is the best way to use the bennies in the new system. I'm already having problems with watering should had stuck with soil, but you live and you learn. I have a big ass rockwool cube inside 2 1/2 bucket surrounded by hydroton rocks. I flood twice a day which seems to be to much. Would the bennies be the best bet or should I use the great white liquid?

Yeah I wish you asked me firstl. Next time use only one kind of media. You are gonna have issues since the rockwool stays wet and the hydroton dries out quiicker. Next tiem go all rockwool flock or all hydroton, or all of some other media but make sure you stick with one type. I learned that the hard way.

bennie tea added straight to the res at 1 cup per 5 gallons is ideal. it depends on how big the plants are as far as watering schedule. I find rockwool does better with top feed. If you can (if you just transplanted), take out the hydroton and change it for rockwool flock. Then you can get away with once a day or maybe twice... really depends on how much they are drinking.

Cap what do you use for adjusting PH? Which chemical is the one that should not be used with bennies? Or is that an urban legend. I have heard from a few dif sources that one of the chems in you standard Ph Up or Down, not sure which, is bad for bennies.

But the source is from one of AN's propaganda sites. I still think the basic info is good for a basic understanding of basic Ph (pun intended).

I would say dilute it first, then add it. I think concentrated swirls of any strong acid or base will kill all microbial life in its wake. This is only my opinion. The chemical pH ups and downs are just nitric acids, phosphoric acids, sulfuric acids, etc... the elemental part wont kill them. just the pH part.

I am making an educated guess, but I have read up on a lot of the commercial ag hormones/growth chemicals. I think that products that most likely contain Triacontanol also contain an adjunct chemical to work with it. Like snowstorm. If it has Triacontanol then it most likely has an enzyme in it also and that would explain the problems some people have with their nurient reservoirs experiencing microbe blooms. Like the white snot stuff.

Anyway, with a lot of the commercial growth chems, most advise to be used with another chem. If you go to the Hummert.com site, it's a pain to look at all the label PDF's but they do tell you this. Some already have two chems in them, or they advise to use in conjunction with another product. That sort of goes along with research I have read that says when you use something that affects one hormone then usually you want to adjust another also. I don't have time to search through my bookmarks but I do believe one example of this is when IAA is used then you need to use kinetin along with it to increase bloom set.

I just acquired a 55 gallon barrel, used to contain anti-freeze, can i clean it for use as a reservoir? If so, what is the best method. Anyones input is welcome. Thank you.

Pressure wash with warm water.

Clean out with ethanol (or another lower chain alcohol like isopropyl).

Pressure wash again.

If you want to be certain go at it with ethanol once more then a final pressure washing.

This is assuming the material the barrel is made of doesn't react with the antifreeze (which is a reasonable
assumption)
