My grandsons were goofing off playing around fighting and they both ended up falling into my 48 x 48 x 72 grow tent. Two of the green side post that go from the floor to the roof folded in half all 4 of the side post broke from the top rim of the tent in short the metal supports are beyond fixing. I thinking about trying to make a PVC frame to support the tent inside. I am not sure what size pvc I should use. Should I Glue it together or use screws and nut so it can be taken apart. I am sure I am not the first to have something like this happen. Any advice as to how I can get my tent up and going would be great

What brand is the tent?

Might be able to get replacement poles, some brands offer them some don’t, other option would be to bring one of the corners to a hardware store in the morning and find PVC (or galvanized metal condouit in the electrical dept) that will fit into the corner. Don’t worry about the split lengths measure the total length of a non broken pole, cut to that length reassemble, they only makes the poles 2 piece so they can ship in shorter boxes. Not sure if equivalent sized PVC to the poles will be strong enough, others can chime in about experience with that, I know 1/2” PVC isint too stiff over a 7’ length but the metal condouit may do it if you can find it quickly enough

Whatever you try give it a flex in the store make sure it’ll hold up to what you think the tent walls pull at suction wise, I’d imagine these pipes are at least twice as strong as the flimsy ones that most tents come with anyways

Hopefully you can have her set back up before the day ends!

Mike thanks for the advice. I did not think about trying electric conduit. You are right they have the 3 way conduit conecters that have set screws to hold conduit in place. I see no reason why that would not work. I can buy some conduit to replace the broken peices too. I had thought I would try to make a square top section out of PVC with 3 way coners that I could slide over the four poles that hold up the top. 2 of the post are broke I was going to try and lace a peice of PVC PIPE to the broken pipes to lock them together. Hearing your thoughts my plan has been tossed out. This site is about growing cannabis but there are problems other than with our plants. I felt surely I would get some good ideas on this site. Anyone else have suggestions please send them my way. Thanks Mikedin

I hope you did the right thing and gave them both a beating.

I’m a hardware store junkie 😂 was a general contractor for 16 years and grew up around it since I was born, our garages where full shops, if I cant find it, I can make it, or make it work! 😂

The tent is made by or for Zeni the only part I found available for it is a replacement floor cover.

PVC will work better than the shitty metal frame it came with. 3/4 inch diameter. All the right connectors are available to make a tent frame.
This. Drill a small hole at each connection and use a screw, or simply push them together without glue. Or, use glue if you don't think you'll be tearing it down soon or ever.

You should be able to create a tent frame with pvc. I added this for my humidifier to my tent. Get the correct length and 45 degree elbows.

This is what two grandkids fixing PopPops grow tent on thier time and thier dime looks like. I'm the guy behind the camera sitting in a chair drinking a cold one. I'll ad that since I had to move my plants outside until the tent was fixed I saw no need to keep the air conditioning running in the grow room until the plants were back inside the boys really enjoyed the heat. John asked can't we at least run a fan. Nope I don't want anything bad to be blown into the tent. I believe my message was heard and understood that will not happen again. Then is up and growing again and a bit stronger joints than it had new. PopPop
