This is what two grandkids fixing PopPops grow tent on thier time and thier dime looks like. I'm the guy behind the camera sitting in a chair drinking a cold one. I'll ad that since I had to move my plants outside until the tent was fixed I saw no need to keep the air conditioning running in the grow room until the plants were back inside the boys really enjoyed the heat. John asked can't we at least run a fan. Nope I don't want anything bad to be blown into the tent. I believe my message was heard and understood that will not happen again. Then is up and growing again and a bit stronger joints than it had new. PopPop

I assumed they were just kids but they look like pretty big lads. Maybe not such a good idea to give them a beating as punishment for their misdemeanour.

Yes I still call them my teen grandsons but they are full grown men. 23 and 20 years. Too old to be goofing off enough to crash into my tent. They were truly upset at themselves and wanted to do all they could to make it right. They were both trying to talk me into letting them buy me a new tent. I would not let them. They did a good job fixing it pluss they made me a adjustable pvc frame to hold up my netting two layers. The bottom is 3/4 inch pvc the top is 1/2 pvc. They made it so the top 1/2 section slides down the 3/4 inch pvc with holes drilled every two inches so the top net can be as low as 8 inches from the bottom net to 36 inches above it. It can be set anywhere between 8 to 36 inches two inch at a time.

My grandsons were goofing off playing around fighting and they both ended up falling into my 48 x 48 x 72 grow tent. Two of the green side post that go from the floor to the roof folded in half all 4 of the side post broke from the top rim of the tent in short the metal supports are beyond fixing. I thinking about trying to make a PVC frame to support the tent inside. I am not sure what size pvc I should use. Should I Glue it together or use screws and nut so it can be taken apart. I am sure I am not the first to have something like this happen. Any advice as to how I can get my tent up and going would be great
Either glue or a tiny self tapping screw in each connection, it only has to go through 2 layers, not 4, doesn't have to come out the other side of the pipes. If gluing, it's easy to cut it later and re-assemble with couplers. I'd go with 3/4 inch pvc but if you feel better about it go with 1 inch. The 3/4 will be strong enough though. I used inch to build a green house. Hope no plants were harmed during the shenanigans!

EDIT: Just read the whole thread, happy you got it worked out, even happier your grand kids fixed it! Good young men!

I would've let them buy me a bigger tent along with a new room to put it. But, I'm also an asshole.

Only one plant was damaged but not bad 6 top limbs got burned a little bit the top 6 inches on 6 got toasted buy the grow light touching it. They didn't know to shut everything off when it clasped. I cut the burn off she will recover will no problem.

Shit happens, life lesson learned for them, and they did right by it, caused you a bit of a setback but theyโ€™ll remember that for life ๐Ÿ˜

50 years from now theyโ€™ll be telling their kids or grandkids about the day they wrecked their granddads grow tent ๐Ÿ˜‚
