Hey guys quick question I'm in a 4x8 tent air cooled hoods and seperate exhaust to a carbon filter my ?? Is I run my exhaust 24hrs with a speed selector but I'm looking to not waste all that energy, I'm not using co2. Can I put the exhaust on a timer so it comes on only a few times a day? Or should I just keep it rippin 24? Also if I can put it on a timer what would you suggest I run it at (speed and time length) and how many times over the coarse of the day? Oh I'm using a 6 inch can fan. Thanks guys in Advance

No, don't have it come on and off. You're looking for a total exchange of air in the room at least 3 times per minute. Pulling that old air out and new air in constantly is important to dense bud development, strong stem growth, and it keeps environmental contaminants that might cause damage to the plant from settling on the leaves.

That fan isn't sucking that much juice, just let it run. You're looking to fix something that ain't broke.

Good luck.

This may help

The VSC-DNe is designed to gradually increase or decrease the speed of
centrifugal fans depending on the day or night temperature set-points.
The Variable Fan Speed Controller enables you to determine precise
temperature levels to achieve within your growing environment by way of
proper ventilation. The temperature differential switch can be set at
3°, 5°, or 7°F and comes complete with a 12’ probe. The day and night
temperature knobs can be set between 50°F and 100°F independently. The
built in photocell will automatically sense day or night and adjust the
speed of your fan accordingly. The VSC-DNe is rated for 6 amps @ 120
volt. 5 year no hassle warranty.

The fan is about a lot more than cooling, just leave it running.
