Tester Ronnie James, Mojito Thunder

First of all, I want to apologise to all of you and most of all to Motarebel for dropping off the radar some time ago after this test was started.

Several things happen in my area that forced me back into my dungeon. But things are calmer now and Im poking my head out again.

I had terrible luck germinating the Mojito Thunder seeds,. I believe only two made it past germ and veg test.
I was running testers for Mota and one other breeder no longer on this site. So for future references, I will address this breeder, west coast breeder (WCB) in this thread.
Just so you all know, as I explained to Mota, I tested these strains with "testing" in mind. I didnt not baby them and grow them in "ideal" situations. On the contrary, I stressed them hard...to the point of death sometimes.

If you notice..the plants are bigger than they should be in the cups. I was purposely root bounding them to try and force auto flower tendacies.
The strains I tested from the WCB did not fare well in this phase of the test and actually not many made it further.
But on the contrary for Motas gear. As hard as I tried to make them auto, not one,..I mean NOT ONE even showed sex.
I had to kick my 24 hour room off for 6 hours a day for them to give me a peek at their genitals.
Heres some pics...you will notice slight PM on some of them..this is intentional. I wanted to see how PM resistant they were.

Not one of Motarebels plants auto flowered. I feel his strains after this test are solid...very solid!

Look at how hard I tested them and they still didnt auto. I did test them harder than WCBs strains just because I was impressed.
These plants from Motas breeding are almost 3-4ft tall in party cups and STILL show no sign of sex! AMAZING!!

Pheno 1 so far is my fav. She has a unique smell, hashplant smell with a touch of pine goodness.

This is pheno 2. She has a real fruity smell to her. Similar to the C-99 scent I have smelled before, but a touch lighter.

This an odd pheno. I may have damaged the tap root when I transplanted and put her into flower before it repaired itself. Notice the wierd flower top.
I have noticed that usually happens if I damage the root system in past strains I have worked with. Odd but interesting. Her fragrance is somewhere between pheno 1 and 2.

I should have some more shots coming next week.
The Mojito Thunder was covered with mites, so I guess that will be a good pest test for her. My predator mites are at work cleaning her up for pics next week.

Extreme testing!!!!!! Looks good man don't see to many people stress testing strains good to know motas stuff is that hearty. Cause we have all had problems or lost motivation and it's great to see good genetics take some abuse.

No, I transplanted them into 1 gallon pots.

They leaned over probably because of the stress I put on them and not enough time to build good stalk before I put them in flower.
So I propped most of them against the wall.

Heres the one with the weird top. If you notice, there is a nanner right in the middle of the pic. It was the only nanner that showed even through this hard of a stress test.

For the most part, the Ronnie James is about ready for harvest. Im giving most of them about a week or so more to go to darken the trichs and swell the calyx's a bit more.



But the Mojito Thunder looks like it may go another 2 weeks which will put it in the 10-11 week range.

Probably, I dont worry about mites, I drop 1000 predators in my rooms every three weeks.
Mites will come and go, not a big issue, they are all usually gone by harvest time.
Ive used predators for mites for over 15 years. Never had to spray or lost any plants to bug damage.
I find that stress sometimes will create a better resin profile.
I had a big argument, about a 12-14 pager on another forum about predators and what bugs are left on your plants at harvest. I can post a link to that forum if you would like.
I think I proved my point with before and after pic shots of the buds with and without mites.
Anyways...

Heres a short update. Im going to take down most of the Ronnie James soon. I will leave one pheno and one of the Mojito Thunders for another week or so to finish.

They are pretty done and Im amazed that they even look half as good as these after all the stress I put on them.

I have to say it again, Mota, you do a very nice job in your work in keeping things stable , potent and tasty.

I will post up a smoke report after dry and cure....

I cant wait to get into my other beans from Motarebel, Fugu Kush, Gryphon will be some of the first ones I think. I have Herijuana in veg right now, will post up some bud shots when they go into flower...
