I'll be contacting peeps today and tomorrow to get you started. Been tied up battlin root aphids, little suckers did a number on me before i knew what was happening. The little turds wiped out my seedlings and clones in short order. Spider mites are little angles compared to these.

Wow, I cant believe Im hearing this. I thought it was just us here in Calirfornia with the Root Aphid explosion. This year seems to be the year of the aphid. Every year its something different and this year its aphids. We have tracked down our source of the root aphids to a brand of dirt we use. Of course regular aphids are exploding outdoors here right now, they are everywhere, Ive never seen aphids as bad as they are this year. Whats the chineese calender say???...is this the year of the aphid? lol

put sliced potatoes on top of yer soil to attract em'. after a couple hours you can lift one up and youll see micro track stars, I thought mites were a pain but at least they cant kill everything like the root aphids. Botanigard works, its a fungus that grows on the skin of anything in the soil, burning its skin off.... but cannot repair damaged roots, it really works on the bugs, had em' infested in 3 rooms, clean now, no sign of em'. 26 casualties tho.

RAs are going nuts in Colorado too! I thought it was just spreading from peeps swapin cuts but I was wondering if some soil or something was infested to start. I'm afraid to bring a couple cuts in I recently got just because of these suckkas suck! My bro had them last year though and it seems they do not like all the dolomite I add to my subsoils. I think the caustic nature of the lime hurts um some cuz we was swapin n I never got them I do neem, all the time though cuz mites suck down in this dirty dustpan
. .............makes me itch man wtf!
yep every year seems I battle something new that don't want my eyes to bleed mites,pm,borers, caterpillars, weird stem chompin beetles, bud rot, crazy cut eatin fungus, rodents, deer ...THEIVES,HAIL, POPO .......enough to make ya loose ya mind!
Whats that good stuff called? Thorazine? Think I need to see my Dr. :animal0012:

Damn Mota. RA's? this year just keeps on sucking. Hang in there man.

have you isolated and took 2x isolated cuts from your stock yet? decided on a chem route? One flying female can lay hundreds of eggs and carry a slew of viruses...

..Im sure you got it covered, but after going through them myself, in my limited setup, i can only imagine what you are going through.
But im here to help if you want the quick run down on them.
there is a lot to digest.

Hell i'm in the process of re-vegging my plants that just finished up flowering, the only plants to make it. I'll be hurtin shortly, lost 3 rounds of cuttings and 2 rounds of seedlings. I haven't even got the RA's killed yet but started a soil drentch today with the azatrol and off to the store i go. All the bugs are coming out this year, earwigs and what i call rhino bugs. Big black bugs with a pincher attached to it's head, mean lookin fooker.

hopefully i catch you before you jet to the shop. :)

IME and reading Azatrol alone one do the trick. i dont think any 1 thing will take care of RAs.
I killed my root infestation by soaking for an hour in a cocktail of Azatrol(8ml) /triazicide (20ml) per gallon. (5gal brewers bucket fits 3.5 gal tree pots perfectly) once every 3 days for 9 days. (no watering/nutes in between)

Surgical tape wound on the trunk sticky side out will keep them from climbing up.
Wipe pure spectracide on the pot rims as well.

P-bombs on treatment days (nighttime) will take down the fliers.
also Sticky traps for control/detection.
i used the above formula on flowering SSJ with only 30days til harvest.
no ill effects. no change in flavor.

EverGreen (60-6) if you are worried about the triazicide and can find it.
There is also Metharizium Anisopliae strain f52 (Met52) , but i would have to see more data before personally recommending it.

Luck Mota, im sure you will handle them.
just make sure you hit them from all angles.

Root Aphids

I have them outside where I live, If I put a pot plant out in a pot without anything under it that plant won't finish. It will fall over after being eaten off just under the soil. I thought that I might have brought them in when one of my inside plants just dropped over, when I grabbed it, it too was eaten off. That planter was put outside immediately. I finished the rest of that grow without any flare ups, but put all the soil outside. One thing I've found is that they will not penetrate a smart pot, grew one outside without anything under it and the plant did awesome, better than the ones in much bigger pots, but with plastic under them. I've removed the plastic from under my smart pots

I grow sterile hydro indoors only!!!! I feel that all indoor grow need to be as sterile as possible. I know that you dirt guys will disagree, however, Root Aphids are rarely if ever a problem in hydroton. If I was making seeds it would always be in a clean hydro system.

Also with modern balanced formulas that are being made cannabis specific, such as Jacks Hydroponic, the flavor and taste of proper hydro weed is amazing. But ill keep that secret to myself. Good luck to the test growers!

Im poping some of your RJD and RMH tonight! Cant wait to see what I find in these packs. Your gear has got to be the best priced bang for your buck on the market! Sixty a pack..thanks Mota.

I have an idea how i got em,shit started going south when i was shipped some bare rooted clones that had a little spagnum moss in the roots. It took less than 2 weeks to start attacking and another 2 weeks to figure it out.I usually get cutts and will go back to this to keep bugs at a minimum. It's easier to dip a cutting than burn down the grow room.
