Lmao, when they unwarrantedly shut our power off a week or two ago, i just drug my plants into the middle of the room and opened the blinds.

My mom and brother were WAY crankier about it than i was, by orders of magnitude. I hid from them in the basement most the day lol. And i stood to potentially lose months of work and effort.

Ive actually had a mild, but slightly annoyed cognitive dissonance thing going on since lolol. Not intense, but its there now. Apparenlty not having netflix or the playstation network affect their life more than months of potential failure would affect mine 🤣 🤷‍♂️

It’s not so much the frequency of running it as much as it is the duration. When the wildfires hit we could be out for weeks. Last time I filled the tank it was almost $1,200 for 288 gallons.

Well, a wall of batteries isn’t gonna cover that either! You’re gonna need a generator as a back up for those! Once they go dead, shit starts spoiling! Unless Elon can charge them up for you via Starlink! Looks like propane is about the same price as gas! A little over four bucks a gallon! That power wall looks like it is something to be used in conjunction with solar! To charge up during the day and use during the night! And for very short term outages!

I dont remember the whole work out but I remember being turned away from the large generac propane units because it was more expensive to run than just a gas unit. Or maybe it was i didn’t want it to chew through my large tank? Either way i think it was less efficient that gas or diesel. I could be way off

I remember when @Captspaulding was without power for a week or more, I sent him a link to this place. One of the electricians that we work with owns one, 35kwh battery with up to 50 amps. If you have full sun exposure these things are quite handy.

I use that I had a fungus net infestation once and it didn't work. Now I put D.E in the soil and if I see anything at all I'll put a 1/2 inch of the volcano sand i have standing by.
Ps.. And I don't over water my plants!😉
