I'm sure whether pH matters or not mostly depends on growing style. For some, pH matters. For others, it doesn't. Then again, if, for example, the pH of the source water is way off, then pH will matter regardless of the growing style. I'd say it's always important to know the pH of the irrigation water before it's used. I've randomly tested mine many times over the years, and it has been stable at 7.6. I generally use organic growing methods, and for that, testing pH doesn't matter for my water, as long as the pH of the source water remains stable. So, one of my gripes about forum advice is when an experienced grower advises a newbie before asking about their style of growing. There isn't a "one-size-fits-all" method of growing.I don't know where all this 'pH doesn't matter' stuff came from because when I left cannabis boards 4 years ago this wasn't the case
Maybe if you have organic soil in a pot big enough for it to act like organic soil that's fine
But in general it's imperative to understand both watering and soil PH to achieve maximum plant health and prevent lockouts
I'm going to post this here because I'm not trying to argue this point, I don't care what others do but at the same time I think it's terrible advice, especially for noobs who are never going to figure out their problems if they don't understand pH
