I love this thread and the nerding out on the leaf fingers. Ha so good. Killer pics btw everyone!! I agree with plant size dictating leaf size and fingers. I had great results with 7 gallons in the past.

I agree with 100% on the strait coco with no perlite.

What I think works really well, is using coco & perlite on small clones and seedlings. They don't have a big root system yet and it gives them more oxygen. I get faster growth with both but I like straight coco for medium and big plants.

Just transplanted some "mystery" ogs and will let them grow out for cuts soon. My room is getting the ac installed soon so hopefully an update soon. Funny story the cuts were taken outside due to some issues and they are so scraggly, started to flower but somehow resilient. The mini nug up top reeks. Kinda has that sharper serration but old on the leafs... I wish I could contribute more fer sure. Killer pics man as usual.

What are you finding is an easier og for yor regimen and also have you tried strait coco with no perlite? I really personally love strait coco slightly more.

Nice upgrade with the ac, really helps to dial in the room... Feel free to update us on ur new og cut when u can... ;)

Most of the og's I run get the same regime, the only two I usually have to reduce the regime a bit would be the true and hi octane, but once they get going they seem to take up as much nutrients as the rest... Currently using gh and additives for veg, and heavy16 bloom and additives for flowering... The additives are a.n.,gh,heavy16,and mad farmer...

Never tried the straight coco as I like to feed daily even in the beds.. The perlite adds great air pockets to the medium.. I was thinking about going the hydroton route (chow mix) but I alway like to test new things befor I got all out in a change..
If I were to mix just coco the medium seems as it would remain wetter, I'm sure this will work if feeding less is the goal...
What would u say is the benefits? @midwestdensies

My usually mix for pots is between 60-40, or 50-50... For beds I go 70-30.. Coco-perlite

So ur saying that u can't grow trees or bigger plants in a coco/perlite mix? Can u explain ur self...

It really depends on what style people grow there plants.. I don't think there's a wrong or right way they all work.. It's a matter of understanding and learning what's happening...

In my case I prefer to feed daily as I'm able to keep ph and ppms in check.. I can feed what they want on a days notice.. And when I feel like things are rocking and rolling I can have then on my drip system..

In 100% coco when the clones dont have a strong root system water lightly and watch them so they dont get underwatered if they need more water add a bit more But not too much to where the medium is saturated. Its about finding the sweet spot.

In flower no need to worry about over watering you'll be surprised at how fast they coco will dry out

Eos- strait coco seemed to have great air porosity in beds and by flower with just a 2-3 week veg from rooted they were fed daily. I used to use perlite and hate fucking with it. Haven't seen any adverse effects just simpler for my liking. Not any real logic but that lol.

Your killing it far from softly amigo!! Great ogeez

If in veg you you lightly water yea and dries out fast enough you could feed everyday or everyother day. Just dont let the coco dry to much.

Veg about 2 wks.

Word... I'm sure it's way easier
Than cleaning perlite for the mix, and the feed amount would differ.. I can understand the reasoning... Might try it when I have to add coco back to the beds... Thanks for the words bro I'm sure u kill it just the same ...

Do it, I prefer it because u can feed it like a hydro system and still u teas like soil and get similar taste... But I prefere soil for the best flavor hands down..

So has anyone noticed a difference in yield from coco/perlite to coco only?

What I'm saying is, I get faster growth on clones or small plants if I use a coco/perlite mix. Since they don't have a good root system yet, they grow faster because they get more oxygen to the roots and the root system builds faster. If I just use coco only, it works too, it just slows things down when the plants are that small. I do get faster growth with small, medium and large plants with coco/perlite, I just don't like to water that often. With large plants, I can take off for a couple days and not worry about fucking up.

For medium or big plants, I like to use just coco, that way I only have to water every four days. With coco/perlite the roots really drink and I would have to water every two days. By the last two weeks in flower I like to be in 3 gal pots, by that time I have to water everyday or every two days.

I agree, there is no right or wrong way to do things. Whatever works for that person. I come here because a lot of people are doing a great Job and growing fire.
