Whats your feed regiment and PH for the GSC Jaws? Most of your plants always look super healthy, but looks to me like shes either needing something or getting too much, seeing her feed program may help. Peace homie. Motiv

runing GH THREE PART FLORO over here umm been runing those for 8years now, ph in veg i keep around 6.2 6.4 once i hit flower i run it at 6.4 6.6.....ya i usualy run a pretty decent looking garden but some times not ..

Wow that would be frustrating bro... I have never seen a plant do that cause your right half look perfectly healthy and the rest jacked up

ya its a strange one to figure out for-sure......

If you did not do it already, spray those girls down with actinovate. It is an organic fungicide and a different strain of penicillin that works for plants. Costs about 20.00 and can be purchased at garden centers and usually ace/osh hardware types of stores. I water it into the root zone ever 8 weeks and spray it every 2 weeks. If there is a drastic change in temps or humidity or seasonal changes I spray it again.

I would also get rid of those dead leaves in the background and clean out any dead plant material. I have found it to be safe to use in flower. One friend reported it burned his plants. Were sprayed outside with tap water. I have not experienced any burning etc. Have sprayed with lights on and lights off both. The fungicide is to make sure if it is a mold/disease it is killed and helps to prevent the spread.

Would also take a microscope/hand lupe to the friend leaves check at the stem/leaf and scan the entire leaf for eggs and pests. Provided there are not any pests I am suspecting the problem is mold/disease.

Thinking out loud... Do you notice it progressing from bottom to top of plant?

Hope that helps.

have not gottan the ACTINOVATE but will be off in the morning to find some if i can....

ya the dead leaves in the try are out now i like to dry all my leaves before bagging them for pitching so i dont deal molding leaves and spores, and i do keep up with the dead or damaged leaves on my plants there pretty clean.....

where it starts is just all areas top middle bottom secondary branches mains aswell...

what i cant figure out is why its just this strain and its something that happens to them every time i grow them, even the clones see to carry it what ever it is....but like i was saying earlyer i have a friend who i sent some snips to and he killed with the plant ahh some of the best looking GSC ive seen and his clips came from my girls so i know im doing something wrong with her but i just cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong with her...

Well J I looked in some books, and tried to help determine what has happened to your GSC. My best guess, at this point, is either Over fertilization, bacteria/mold, or possibly a Zn deficiency. Zn deficiency will give you wrinkled leaves.New growth will torque and twist, and may drop off the plant prematurely. Flowers grow small, and deformed, stems are short and brittle. Adding excessive P may precipitate Zn shortages.

Hope this helps some. Twould be easier to diagnose if we knew if there were spores present. So that would be in the Downy mildew category. DM begins as yellow leaf spots of irregular size and angular shape, limited by leaf veins. Opposite the spots, on the undersides of leaves, the organisms emerge from stomates to sporulate. Lesions enlarge quickly, and affected leaves become contorted. Leaves soon necrose and fall off. Whole plants and entire fields may follow this course.

Should it be Downy Mildew try products like Serenade.

I know there are no "mildew" spots present, but the leaf reaction seems right. Eh Best of luck with it brotha!

Crom

thats kinda over my head but thank you much my brother for bringing it to my attention...woner where a good place is to buy a micro-scope?......

I don't agree with the smell/flavor described, but hey what are ya gonna do. What do you guys that have experienced the strain think?

ive never really smelled any minty on mine i did get a nice tootsie-roll oder with just a hint of mint but it faded as things moved along in flower....im not going to speak on the flvor because shit im yet to get her to harvest properly so i'll save that for another time....

thanks friends;)

Hey Jaws, the ChemSoda f2's, what was the focus pheno wise? 50/50's??

not 100% on that yet humm the PHENO i have in clone is heavy Chemdog D i know this because i have the BLACK CHERRY SODA in-house and the only thing i see in my cut of the BCS would be some purpleing..

with the male i may look to put more of the BCS in her but really im going to have to wait and see what males i get to look at....if i get two males that are defferent i may just make two batchs of F2's...

still got some time to work those Question out...

peace;)

Sorry to hear about the probs with the GSC,im still tryin to land the real thing . Hopefully she makes some killer beans before you ditch her.

its been an on going problem my friend and its just going to take some doing to get it figured out is all...

thank you:)

jaws....lower your nutes and up your cal mag.

its an issue with the plant being able to trans-locate N to the growing tips. Dark leaves with purple stems and petioles is a sign of cal.

BLACK CHERRY SODA,

not much longer now.

put three more plants to flower today..
ECSD---20INCHES
ALIENDAWG F4 {COCO}---12 1/2 INCHEES
TRAINWRECK {ARCATA}---27

this will be the last run of the ECSD and i think im going to cover her with some cookie monster pollen and push out some EAST COAST MONSTER seeds....

ahh also here is a look at a long flower SATIVA that i think i have regained control of..

VELVET RUSH F6..
19

not saying this is not a good strain but if you know me very well you know i suck at runing heavy sats, and this strain is no different but i do believe i screwed this one and her two sister right out of the gate...

the one sister i had in the two litre i have already cut down...
17
18

i do believe now that i over ferted these SATS right off the bat, umm reason im thinking that is because just three days ago the big gril above and her sister was looking pretty bad so i said to myself SELF lets just flush these two and if they improve i will keep them if they dont i will kill them off...

well even though they dont look to good in the above pic they look tons better then they did just the other day, so i have chosen to just grow them out with verry little feeding unless they just start screming for some food..

as you can see by those two chop shots this girl will put off some big ass colas for-sure and those above probably needed 5-6 more weeks, id say these are 12 weekers...

peace:)

Hey Jaws,

Are you sure the GSC still doesn't have broad mites? I have the same problem with my GSC....she seems to grow a little dwarfed....and the same symptoms as far as the leaves go too....I am fairly convinced that broad mites are the issue....I have been treating with Floramite and I plan on doing an Avid dip soon....

Are your experiencing leaf curl with the new growth? That's one of the BM symptoms that has me convinced that it is indeed the mites.....I don't know though....I am dealing with the same issues and wanted to bounce some ideas around.....

Great thread you have rolling here too....I have been following for a long time :)

great work jaws! been awhile since ive been in here...and its good to see your rockin:)

well first off thank you much for having some interest in my thread here, very kind....

ok so ive had my FOURM cut for months now maybe 4-5 and ive had this problem from the get go, now awhile back i got some cuts from a friend and then was informed that those cuts had BM i of cource panic but thankfully i had some super good friends who were watching over me and when they seen i was in the shit they swooped in and did me several solids and i was able to get what was nedded to deal with the brood mites...

i did a triple shot on all my plants and cuts i had at the time, now fast forward to today the GSC still doing the same thing as its always done NONE of my other plants are doing anything like what im seeing with the GSC and shes right in there with the other and nothing on the other plants....same deal with my vegging GSC there in there with my other vegging plants and there they only ones showing these signs, at this point i have no idea what is really going on over here......i have been given a game plan to the next process and next week once my order arrives im going to try yet another process to try and get them to grow correctly..

now i sent some of these cuts to friends three to be exact and two are having the same type problems that i am BUT the fourth dude just killed it with his first run on the cut i sent him so to me that kinda kills any thoughts of having BM.....

from what i know of BM umm once you get them and it gos untreated they spread like wild fire and im simple just not seeing any such things over here...

im going to flush my girl and right at the end im going to hit them with a dose of cal-mag and then next week im going to start an organic foliar spray and just see how that gos...

imso FNing mad over this but i truely think its something im doing or not doing that is the reason im not getting to the finish line with this strain, i was going to just say f&^% it and throw them out but now its to the point of i fill i need to figure this out or its going to hunt me.....

i have one in flower 4 in veg and 4 new ones in the dome...

ohh ya that last statement brought up something else that i need to speak to, umm most ppl with this cut say its easy to root and it usualy takes about 7-9 days to root in a dome but for me its more like 15-18 days and more often them i want to admit they go south and have to be pitched before they ever root...other strains in the dome root just fine never any real problems just with this GSC cut.....

the effects are all over the plant not just new not just old, you could have one on the bottom and one at the top one yound one older it just dont seem to matter....and i think this is how the whole problem starts for me any ways...

begining roght here when i see this a few days later that leaf is crispy crinkled and dead and/or dieing..

Thanks for the quick reply!

I too have been pretty pissed at this plant over the past couple of months. I have been trying to figure out the issue and I am still seeing the same problem. LOL....You and I share the same mentality it seems....I am too deep with this plant now as well...I have to see it through or else it will bother the shit out of me forever....Hopefully it will get sorted out....I bet it something dumb as hell.....

At worst I am going to try and find another cut of the GSC....I bet its not going to live up to the work I have put in....but damn she is pretty in the pics!

Much respect for what you do JAWS! I always enjoy coming in here and checking out the new projects....I have to try your gear one of these days.

hello CS:)
i fill for you aswell my friend so let me say this IF i can find the problem and get it fixed up on my end i will pass that info onto you and hopefully we can BOTH at some point finale get to try some decent GSC from our own hands...

keep moving forward my friend;)

so the problem countinues but!!

174

these are my two still in vegg and this morning i mixed up some plain water with ml of cal-mag plus per gallon and PHED it down to 6.3 and ran two gallons through each of these two plants, so in about a week will see if that helps...

i have removed all the infected leaves so everything on the plant looks really good so we will see ASAP if the problem restarts..
