I figured I better flip the lights and start this thread soon or it would turn into a project similar to DETOX.... you know shits goin down, dre tells you shits goin down, gives you a taste here and there but you're still not getting the DETOX~

I've got 4 Sun Hut Silver tents, here's a quick run down of the equipment I've got in them.

Sun Hut XXL (4.75' x 9' x 7')
2 - Magnum XXXL 6" hoods
2 - Hydrofarm magnetic 1kw HPS ballasts powering Hortilux Super HPS bulbs
3 - 6" inline fans... 2 are scrubbing and exhausting out of the tent, the other is exhausting the lights from the hoods pulling air from outside of the tent

(2) Sun Hut XL's (4.5' x 4.5' x 7')
Each tent has identical equipment
Hydrofarm Radiant 6" hoods
Hydrofarm magnetic 600w HPS ballasts powering Hortilux Super HPS bulbs
6" inline fan scrubbing, going through the hood and exhausting out of the tent

Sun Hut LG (3' x 4.5' x 7')
4 bulb HO-T5 light
6" inline fan scrubbing the space, hooked to a fan controller

Soil Information

I made all the soil I'm currently using in late summer/early fall. I over-complicated the hell out of it but I think that I've ended up with a more consistent soil that's giving me far less problems than my previous mix that I ended up having pH/calcium availability issues with.

I started off making my compost mix portion in mid summer. Its not ideal and I know there's a few people that are going to say that "its easier and cheaper to do it yourself"... that requires foresight of the need and the time to make the compost, frankly I had neither but was more than glad to pay for some quality bagged products.
In 8-10 (could have been as high as 12.... terrible memory) 35 gallon totes I mixed up a few storebought compost items. Each tub recieved a deposit of:

(2) 40lb bags of Green Thumb mushroom compost
25lb bag of earthworm castings.... good shit, as good as it gets without coming out of your own bin
1.5 cubic feet Monrovia Plant Compost
1.5 cubic feet Monrovia Soil Amendment
4lb bag of Espoma Bio-Tone Starter+ 4-3-3 (Hydrolyzed Feather Meal, Pasteurized Poultry Manure, Cocoa Meal, Bone Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Greensand, Humates, Sulfate of Potash, and
Sulfate of Potash Magnesia)

I've used a wide range of Monrovia products for a couple of years now in the veggie garden, all quality and mostly organic... not 100% sure what's in their soil amendment but I think its got some oscomote in it, not organic but it works well enough for me to allow it into the "grey area". I've tried to be 100% organic in the past, have had a few issues with the soil I mix myself until this new batch.

I let this sit for at least a month, feel it was closer to 6 weeks though. It came out smelling fucking great and it had a pretty good consistency considering its moisture retention properties.

Given that I'm growing many strains, a lot of blueberry crosses with a few sativa leaning crosses that eat on the light side of things I saw the need for many different soils. I had previous experience working with ProMix BX and Sunshine #4 and realized they'd be perfect in helping me achieve the differences I needed. The SS4 is what I used for the hotter mixes, the heavier feeders also tend to need better moisture retention as they drink more. I used the BX in the lighter feeders, if it was available at my nursery I woulda used the shit that has yucca in it instead.
The measurements given are how much I mixed together at one time, any more and you're working too damn hard to mix it evenly.

Seed Starter - I start seedlings and clones in this
5 gallons ProMix BX
1 gallon EWC
1/2 gallon chunky #4 perlite
1/3 cup dolomite lime
1/4 cup Espoma Bio-Tone Starter+ 4-3-3 (Hydrolyzed Feather Meal, Pasteurized Poultry Manure, Cocoa Meal, Bone Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Greensand, Humates, Sulfate of Potash, and
Sulfate of Potash Magnesia)

Mid-Late Veg Mix - I usually do 2-3 transplants after the seed starter mix, I only use this in veg
3 gallons compost mix
5 gallons ProMix BX
1 gallon chunky #4 perlite
1.5 cup dolomite lime
1.75 cup Monrovia 3-6-4 (feather meal, bone meal, blood meal, potash of magnesia, kelp meal and alfalfa meal)
1 cup Dr. Earth's Kelp .6-.5-2.5
1 cup Espoma Jersey Green Sand 0-0-.1
1/2 cup Sunleaves Peruvian Seabird Guano 10-10-2

Normal Feeder Mix - has Sunshine Mix #4
5 gallons compost mix
5 gallons Sunshine Mix #4
2 gallons bricked GH coir
1 gallon chunky #4 perlite
1.5 cups dolomite lime
2 cups Monrovia 5-6-6 (feather meal, bone meal, blood meal, potash of magnesia, kelp meal and alfalfa meal)
1 cup Dr. Earth's Kelp .6-.5-2.5
1 cup Espoma Jersey Green Sand 0-0-.1
1/2 cup Sunleaves Peruvian Seabird Guano 10-10-2

Light Feeder Mix - has ProMix BX
5 gallons compost mix
5 gallons ProMix BX
2 gallons bricked GH coir
1 gallon chunky #4 perlite
1.5 cups dolomite lime
1.75 cups Monrovia 3-6-4 (feather meal, bone meal, blood meal, potash of magnesia, kelp meal and alfalfa meal)
1 cup Dr. Earth's Kelp .6-.5-2.5
1 cup Espoma Jersey Green Sand 0-0-.1
1/2 cup Sunleaves Peruvian Seabird Guano 10-10-2

Guano - No Coir - has mix of BX and SS4
5 gallons compost mix
3 gallons Sunshine Mix #4
2 gallons Promix BX
1 gallon chunky #3 perlite
1/3 cup Sunleaves Mexican Bat Guano 10-2-1
1/3 cup Sunleaves Peruvian Seabird Guano 10-10-2
1/3 cup Sunleaves Jamaican Bat Guano 1-10-.2
1/3 cup Sunleaves Indonesian Guano .5-12-.2
1.5 cups dolomite lime
1 cup Dr. Earth's Kelp .6-.5-2.5
1 cup Espoma Jersey Green Sand 0-0-.1

Earth Juice Mix - has ProMix BX / No Coir - to be used in conjunction with a bottled organic fert/regular AACT diet
5 gallons compost mix
5 gallons Promix BX
1 gallon chunky #3 perlite
3/4 cup FoxFarm Tomato & Vegetable 7-4-5 (feather meal, bone meal, fish meal, fish bone meal, sulphate of potash of magnesia, alfalfa meal, blood meal, bat guano, kelp meal and gypsum)
3/4 cup FoxFarm Fruit & Flower 5-8-4 (feather meal, bone meal, hydrolyzed fish, fish meal, fish bone meal, sulphate of potash of magnesia, alfalfa meal, blood meal, bat guano, rock phosphate and gypsum)
1.5 cups dolomite lime
1 cup Espoma Jersey Green Sand 0-0-.1

After mixing I added Espoma Garden Gypsum @ .75 cups/~15-20 gallons of medium and watered with a nice EWC/molasses tea.

I let the mix sit and was not happy with how much water it retained, too much mushroom compost me thinks...... In lieu of that issue I have been mixing what comes out of my tubs at a 3:1 ratio with ProMix BX before planting. My plants are happy so I will likely continue cutting my tubs with the BX and supplement the nutrients lost with top dressings of EWC/guano/kelp after the stretch stops. Just to make sure its clear:

I HAVE BEEN CUTTING WHAT IS IN MY TUBS WITH PROMIX BX AT A 3:1 RATIO DUE TO MOISTURE RETENTION ISSUES

Nutrient Information

I've been using almost all of the Earth Juice line with a bit of Botanicare's Silica Blast here and there. I basically feed the "Normal" dose of everything in the line as needed. I feed the normal dose of catalyst and microblast in between feedings. This is what I've got at my disposal at the moment as far as bottled nutes go...

Earth Juice Grow 2-1-1
Earth Juive Bloom 0-3-1
Earth Juice Microblast
Earth Juice Catalyst
Earth Juice Meta-K 0-0-4
Earth Juice Hi-Brix Molasses 0-0-3
Botanicare Silica Blast

I've got some liquid seaweed and fish as well but only use the kelp as a foliar here and there, fish just sits there..... if I got my hand on a quart of some neptunes fish/seaweed I'd be more likely to use them once in a while.

Once I run out of the EJ grow/bloom I am going to be switching to the GO line for my macro/micronutrient needs. I will likely still keep using the EJ Catalyst, Hi-Brix and Meta-K.

I thought it was worth mentioning that I also have tons of all of the Sunleave's guanos and EWC so I might top dress with that and use the EJ line as a constant nutrient stream/a pH down :D

You are joining a show already in progress... Day 4 of 12/12

I have too many strains going to formally introduce you all to them at once so I will just cover what's in the XXL tent, for now.

First up, and what I'm most excited about is Dutchgrown's White Lightning (The White x G13bx). I love the structure on all of these plants, it seems like I've got a wide spectrum of pheno's based on the varying structures. I have these in 7 gallon nursery pots with the nornal feeder mix filling them up. They're all being trained with tomato cages, I am training them towards an even post stretch canopy so its not perfect looking now but I feel I've got the plants set up for success.

In the middle of the White Lightnings sits my favorite Dr. Atomic's Blueberry Jam ((NLxBB) x NL), also in a 7 gallon nursery pot with the normal feeder's mix. Its super berry/fruity smelling, very vigorous and it liked being staked up so much it started to vine out. I took the stakes out in hopes it would start growing vertically because I think the plant will have no problem supporting itself later in flower.

Under the center of the other Magnum XXL I've got a C99 leaning pheno of Mosca's Killer Queen Redux in a 7 gallon bucket. Surrounding my choice KQ are the other Blueberry Jam phenos and 2 of the other KQ phenos. These plants are in 5 gallon nursery pots and are also using the normal feeder's mix. I had to cull the smallest KQ due to space issues, still have a cutting though so it'll be ran at some point.

Mosca's KQ uses the more indica g13 cutting and you sure can tell by the structures, all plants will have no issues supporting themselves. I have one that seems to be leaning towards the g13, two are a good balance between the two and then there's the cindy leaning pheno.

Dr. Atomic's Blueberry Jam has been a breeze to grow, it looks like the line is stable pheno-wise. I think I've got a couple of pheno's that are identical, could be the BX to the NL daddy the Dr. used. Some plants will likely need a few lower branches cut off after the stretch but I have hope that I could end up getting a few of them to be productive from top to bottom if they don't stretch too much.

What a night! I think I said "WOW" and "FUCK" about every way one can in the English language.

First I'll give a synopsis of what I did in the veg tents.
I up potted everything in veg and culled a shit ton of plants. I still need to trim some lowers and top just about everything to be ready for the continuous cloning of a properly running perpetual garden... first time I've had a veg backlog in almost a year.

I completely culled the critical+ plants, as previously mentioned.

I also cast out the fairlight c99's. I ended up with 8/10 being males, the 2 females looked ok but I doubt I'm missing out on anything I can't add back in with my 2 packs of Joey Weed f2s. Others have had the same issue with a high male ratio and are currently growing the females but only the strongest varieties make the cut in my garden.

Two or three months ago I popped the aforementioned pack of fairlight c99 and two packs of Mosca Negra's C99 BX1. Last night I found and up potted 10 females, I'm pretty sure I have 6 males and 2 have yet to be identified... I still need to top and do a light trim of the undercarriage to get these focusing on the side branches so I can get those cloned and flowered soon.

The Legend's Johnny Blaze (Neville's Haze x Blueberry) project is still chugging along merrily. I have the pollen from 6 Johnny Blaze males in the freezer, I hope I dried it enough before freezing it... would hate to have fucked it up. There are 11 overgrown mothers that are ready to be cloned for the next round, I envision them ending up under a screen in 5 gallon pots in the 4x8 at this time.

The Connoisseur Genetics OG Chem (Chemdog D/OG Kush x Chemdog bx2) plants I selected are still alive and kickin it. Since this project is for the benefit of the community I selected 2 males based on smell and structure, both should be stellar considering the starting population size. I also culled a couple of floppy stemmed, longer noded females... more of a numbers thing than an issue with the plants themselves, ended up with 7 females. I will likely let my white lightning's sit in on that gangbang as I have a pretty good hunch that the white has something from the chem family in it... regardless that will be an epic hybrid methinks.

I also started 3 packs of my Spice of Life Blubonics. All 30 are above soil in 5x5 pots putting out their second/third set of real MJ leaves.
--------------------
Now for the surprise in the flower tent.... In my last journal I mentioned that I didn't properly sex my Killer Queen or Blueberry Jam plants...
The KQ and BB Jam were not sexed properly, first to admit it. I saw a couple of each strain show sex so I went off of what the preflowers were showing. I could have saved a male or two and gotten rid of females, pretty pissed at myself on that one.

I was moving the plants around, rearranging the tent when I noticed something unexpected, NLBB1 is shooting male flowers out at me. This isn't a bad thing, to be perfectly honest with you I wish I had made f2s. I guess this is karma paying me back for this summer, the plant is super healthy and has great structure. I'm gonna work on getting my male chamber fixed before he starts busting his load everywhere. I only plan on making the f2s on a lower branch on each plant, originally this was going be completely sensi.

here's a pic of my surprise male

A little bit past the weekend but I've been glued to various pieces of furniture, been a good week of smoking for sure.

I bought a stealth 100 RO unit, I've just ignored the fact I needed this upgrade..... chloramine is all one needs to say. I haven't hooked it up yet but I did get some General Organics CaMg in anticipation of needing to supplement every watering. I hope the added control is a benefit and changing water source in the middle of the grow doesn't mess anything up.

A couple of days ago I scratched in the following ingredients to all pots in the 4x8 tent:

1 cup earthworm castings
1.5 tbs Peruvian Seabird guano
1 tbs Dr. Earth's Kelp
1 tsp dry maxicrop seaweed exract
1 tsp Dr. Earth's Alfalfa
1 tsp Indonesian bat guano

The plants were looking a little hungry but I think it might have been the hps glow magnifying the slight def's that were beginning, mainly magnesium. Either way I guess they should be good for another 2 or 3 weeks, just gonna feed Hi-Brix and Catalyst weekly and a splash of silica blast and microblast about every water.

I've been overwatering a few plants a tad, made notes and hope to get them back on track... critical time here, gotta pay attention and give them all the time I can.

I had to chop the male down today, I've got the main branches in a glass of water in a 5 gallon bucket covered by a white plastic shopping bag. I am still having issues with getting a proper male chamber made, this will do.. I really dig how he rolls, glad I've got him cloned. I will probably end up making the f2s and hitting the Johnny Blazes up with him as well, but not at this time... hard to break away from keeping this run sensi. There's probably nothing else planned with him but I'll let him hang around as long as possible.

While doing a bit more research it appears that the blueberry jam is straight up NL x BB, there's no backcross to the NL.

Keep in mind when looking at the plants that the NLBB and KQ are from sexed clones, the WL are from seed so will likely flower a bit longer than the other strains.

Not really shit going on otherwise, just trying to keep them happy... dreading the massive trim session thats obviously coming sooner than later, no popcorn's the goal this time.
