Shamus I meant basically that I moved to Seattle in 99 and my style then was urban bohemian, i listened to modest mouse before they were anything but a regional novelty, was addicted to radiohead since 92, wore ironic glasses with tweed coats, cordouroy and boat shoes and rode a schwinn. I was just trying to match the vibe if Seattle from 99-2003. Then comes the late 2000's and suddenly the Seattle style of almost 10 years ago was something called "hipsters" and i just laughed. Been there, done that. Which is why that "fashion style" or whatever it is, did not spring up organically it was cobbled together with bits and pieces of things that had already been over for a long time. The culture now is not based on music or clothing it's based on a common love for socialism and moustaches. The so called "folk" bands like mumford and sons are lame, they would do better by all of us if they reignited some of the old standards written during the last revolution like some CSN&Y, dylan, maybe early bowie, that kind of stuff that refuses to let its audience become complacent. We need revolutionary music about revolutionary topics, not songs about moustaches and internet memes.
