This is a great saying for life in general.

With regard to growing especially. Try new things and see how it works for you.

I remember a smart old guy told me once that even if you're good at something and you know it, never assume what your doing is the right or best way of doing it, and never settle for how you do things now. Always learn and always be open to doing things differently. Stay humble.
