honestly i think its the volcanic soil life and all the blood that was shed on the land gave it a very diverse microbe thing... but OG ocean grown maybe the ions in the air... if only you could have smoked my indoor it was as good or better then most out door... my em1 contaminated 818headband was an amazing hike... trippping happy but freeeking tripping.I can only relate my experiences growing Hawaiian seeds, outdoors in New England, in the late 70s. They were very similar to those of DJ Short, who wrote about the genetics available at that time.
Back then, almost all weed was seeded. I would save the seeds from the best weed I had all year and grow them in the summer. I had an unusual situation, because I was close to large body of salt water that kept frost at bay until late November, early December.
With Colombian Gold, my weed was always about as good as the reefer it came from or better. With Hawaiian, the weed came out about as good as the Colombian, but NEVER close to the original Hawaii-grown Hawaiian. I figured it was cold temperatures and I'm sure that had something to do with it. But DJ Short seemed to see the same thing. His theory was the relatively constant climate/temperatures of Hawaii had something to do with it.
I can't say why it was that way. If we had indoor abilities at that time, maybe we'd know.
day 85 night can be 40... its your fert selection and mircobes but like 90% the starting genetics...I can only relate my experiences growing Hawaiian seeds, outdoors in New England, in the late 70s. They were very similar to those of DJ Short, who wrote about the genetics available at that time.

molds love hawaii...terroir, Genetics, Grower style. Same trinity of things no matter where you grow. I will say...having grown in oregon, cali, and now hawaii, Cali is by far the easiest to produce top shelf sungrown. Hawaii is the hardest. Just my 2 cents
yep, mold mildew septoria, bark boring beetles, fugnas gnats, all thrive here with a vengeance lolmolds love hawaii...

quality seed quality weedYeah I think that nowadays the location where your growing definitely still makes a difference but not as much as it did back in the day. I think the "lore" that was going around was because everyone kept genetics tight to the chest, therefore weed from these coveted areas was way hotter than the other lower grade swag floating around. Now that so many states have legalized the taboo has faded and growers all around can share top grade genetics. Especially since indoor has evolved now people everywhere can grow at the very least solid weed. Im from Cali and back when I was in High School I remember some really hot flame on the streets. Bad ass OG that would stink out an entire house party when you had one little baggie in your pocket. Its been a minuet since I have smelled that super hard gas its definitely become much harder to find now.
