Thai?!?! Make a plate for me! I had Vietnamese neighbors, the grandmother and I shared food, grew vegtables. She did not speak English well, but food was our tool to communicate, a WOW we did communicate! I ate ate many of they're family dinners, never enjoyed eating food so much

I bought my first house east Denver could ride my bike to work at the old Stapelton airport in 12 minutes...
it was an estate sale. The lady who lived there Olive died and they sold the house fully furnished, bed, television, pots, pans sheets, towels the whole shebang...
Was being shown the house by an agent. I really liked it. Upon leaving this older lady introduced herself as Millie Fishencord a southern gal who was the sweetest lady and we became the best of friends nnd neighbors..
She would invite me for daily cocktail hours and dinners several days of the with her friends Ruth and Betty. she never ran out of beer always a 12 pack upstairs and another one in the ice box, downstairs...
We had a ball. I took her to Red Rocks to See the moody blues with the Colorado symphony orchestra was sat 3 rd row dead center. She was amazed and what that woman witnessed over the years that went on in that house was amazing...
I looked after her for many years and she started to decline.
One day some caddies pulled up and the for sale sign was posted she was gone in 2 weeks to her son a Texas cop who really did not like me but he had to because Millie just loved me.
she moved out and a young couple moved in with two German shepherds who barked all day when they were gone. The dogs also destroyed in no time Milles back yard where she lived 65 years...
My other neighbor Jack I went to jail felony assault to the elderly when I lost my cool and tossed a chunk of concrete he threw at me.
It hit hit square in fore head and off to jail I went.
$10,000 bond. Millie Ruth and Betty threw my bail and picked me up late night at the jail house and had a cooler with beer in it for me for the ride home...
We had parties with all kind of fokks from work at the airlines, gays, mexicians, blacks we all ate and drank and had a blast.
I did see Olives goast several times and other really felt her presence.
Have been gone 17 years. I stopped by and a younger gal bought the place and I introduced myself and told her of Olive and what a special house this was for me..
187 steps from couch to barstool on east Colfax, had a tab at the bar and take home cases wee 20 bucks after hours..
fond memories, nice to recollect and share..

They are the most awesome folks and we are better than blood family.
She had issues with her parents no dad ever. She spent a summer on the farm and it changed and saved her life. Somehow her time here She learned what real love is.
