The part where I win

Clear tubes, if exposed to enough light, will grow algae. Easy enough to cover them with a small bit of pandafilm, and secure with a twist-tie though. Thanks for the props, most of my good info came from the big kids at the site here like Jalisco Kid...

Hey you know the IBA trick, right?
Easiest way to implement is get some Dip N Grow(1%/10,000 ppms IBA) and mix w/every feeding at .15-.3 ml/gallon, I run about .25 ml/gallon or so. Roots will blow the hell up way faster, very cost efficient. Gets roots to the water layer faster, cuts cycle time, etc. This plus usage of Cap's bennies in a tea make for serious growth rate enhancements for hella cheap.

Hey I messed w/Banana Manna at 0.1 oz/gallon instead of the customary 1 oz/gallon, and achieved much the same results in terms of increased frostage and stink. Much cheaper.

Fuck yeah Thanks for the tip once again DW. I think I've read that somewhere but knowing exact ratios and that its working for someone is clutch. Cycle times are very important and keeping them faster and without hiccups is crucial for anyone. MWD

Yo Danks, Was thinking about that airstone ordeal and in your buckets I had thought you had some type of aeration going on? I guess what I was asking is what is the reasoning behind the airstones as compared to what looked like you had taken an ez cloner manifold and flipped it upside down to bubble somewhat? advantages vs disadvantages?
If that wasn't what you were doing if you could kick me down any and all pointers man that would be fucking tits. I believe today a tote is going to be configured so I can murder some plants soon hah. Thanks homes. MWD

Was too broke for airstones, could get the 1/2" cpvc on a home depot card.
Walmart airstones are a much better gig.
Those fuckers floated, stupid as fuck, made me swear.
That and a commercial air 3 is insufficient IMO for 12 totes. 2 would have been better, and the additional pressure delivered by a commercial air 5 would have worked out way more awesome for 12 totes.

I would like to try 1 commercial air 5 for every 6 totes.

Ok. Thanks for the response. I've delayed the bucket build to sometime this week and will look into pumps. Im only doing either 2-4 totes with two 3 gallon aeration frames inside. Should be up and running and will get some pics and feedback how it goes. MWD

Hey if you have the tools, I would strongly recommend cutting 6 or 8" portholes in the middle of the 30" side so you can easily access the inside without fucking with the lid. Fucking with the lid is a huge pain in the ass with buckets in it. Stole the idea from JK, he has screw-in porthole lids though which is a kickass feature.

Not doing end pics, professional paranoia.
This cultivar is hella short on bag appeal compared to most, nothing to write home about. Was #5 out of 6 as far as bag appeal from the beans I tested. Other cultivars were blingy, but did not do what this cut did.
I have a strong suspicion that the terpenes that fight black mold in the body are strongly represented in this cut. Part of what kept me alive I think earlier this year. I also have a strong suspicion that many illnesses, especially cancer, are somehow tied to fungal attacks on the body in various forms. Just a hunch.

Thanks a bunch. Are there a certain number of airstones you would choose to go with per tote for adequate aeration? May only do just two totes to get the gist for now because of certain scenarios currently but piecing everything together and figuring out what things to buy. MWD

I think the 1 foot airstone from walmart will be adequate for a shallow water layer at the bottom of one tote. But more airstones per tote probably could not hurt.

That is fascinating- do you do this during flower or only during veg? Any recommendations for a continuous feeding regimen?

Your plants look amazing, I don't envy you the veg on those. The single look to me like a plant that wants to flower even under 24 hour light. Reminds me of black berry kush or c99. I'll be watching, especially your thoughts on hooded vs bare bulb. I'd like to try a scrog run but would have to use air cooled hoods and I'm worried about weak tryc development.

Like to use IBA in veg and first 3 weeks of flower or so.
That cultivar likes to try to preflower like mad any time there is any root stress(like being rootbound at all)
Will run barebulb some day when I can support the AC needed for that.
Will supplement w/uvb eventually, that will help with trichomes. Glass in the hoods doesn't help.
Hope to be implementing 1ks hung vert, lower, to sidelight lowers under the scrog screen. In addition to the overhead 1ks that is.
More weight per ft2 than pure overhead lit scrog, but none of the bullshit of having to tie up every cola with fishing line or yoyos like in a pure vert setup.
Tying up everything in week 5 or 6 made me haaate.
