The poor man grow

About time i put something up i guess. After a long break im back to gardening.

New house, new strains, limited funds. But i like a challenge.

Setup as follows, room is approx 11'x11'.
Goals are ultimately 4 5'x5' scrogs in an L pattern with leds in dwc. 1 plant per scrog, yes monsters! However this is the poor man grow.

For now i will be running three 4.5' x 4.5' scrogs. Lights will be 3 x 1000watt hps old school magnetic ballasts in cheap air cooled hoods. Doing a pete perlite mix in fab pots. 2 sections will be 1 plant, 1 section will be 2 plants. The 2 plant section will likely need to be thinned to keep inline with the other sections.


4x og kush clones from a bag seed mom. Not really sure what to expect.

So far having issues with cold. Drops to around 58 after lights out for few hours. Compensating by heating nutrients to 71. These kush plants seem to be cold sensitive more than most.

Plants are a bit dark will be cutting nitro a bit.

It's a work in progress as always, more to come when its time to spread them out.

You obviously did not fully read my post. This will be an evolution of grows shifting from soil to a rdwc setup.

Sorry folks, to late to edit now. Perhaps I should have put my current setup ahead of my goals. I'm just as guilty as the next guy for skimming. But if I'm going to shit on someone's post. I will read it in full to assure it's deserved.

Considering most gear is used, outdated, and inexpensive. I think it qualifies. The 3 ballasts were free, the hoods are borrowed, the bulbs are used. I have about 200 bux invested into this grow. Admittedly it would cost more to build from scratch. But I'm also used to dropping around 5-10k for gear.

No disrespect intended HeLL, 5-10K wouldn't happen for me if I lived two life times. I'm an older guy that spent the last 30 years outside. I am on my 3rd inside grow it includes a 3x3 tent a 600 watt blurple, 100w Cree and 4" filter-fan. Throw in Genetics, medium and Advanced Nutes and I just touch $400.
Again, no disrespect that is a beautiful group of ladies at any price. Great work reconditioning gear.

I am on my 3rd inside grow it includes a 3x3 tent a 600 watt blurple, 100w Cree and 4" filter-fan. Throw in Genetics, medium and Advanced Nutes and I just touch $400.

I get that, i do. This is my first time growing for "personal". I am used to a bit bigger of a scale, but wanting to stay legal. Our limit is 4 and this diary will eventually evolve to getting the maximum possible off 4 plants. Which will be a 20 square foot scrog. Always open to suggestions along the way.

Plants looking like they gonna explode when you flip em! Can not tell from the pics, did you raise them off the floor to help with the cool lights off temps? That concrete will sap the heat out of em quick. Just a thought before I go back to lurking.

Yes, they are blocked up about 6" sitting on 22 inch trays. I have a fan aimed at the ceiling to disturb and distribute the heat from the light.

I also rolled out a piece of cushion flooring i got free. Still to cold lights out time 58f.

Got the room a little more setup. Took apart some 400 watt magnetic ballast fixtures i paid 20 a piece for. Rigged the ballasts to these hoods. Not going to run 1000s until flip.

Scrogged the plants out, i weaved, pulled, and broke branches to get them situated how i wanted. Only had to tape 1 up. They look trampled, more pics after they re-situate.

It's a 300 dollar budget grow with equipment from the 90s. But its fine this thread will be no longer updated.
