Fa Ka Orange Cheeto! They (leaders) all subscribe to a speech Herman Goering spoke in private at Nuremberg. Except rather than bringing the whole country along, he has buffered it with division. Leaving civil war . .

Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
Hermann Goering

Orange Cheeto claims he came up with "America First" but, history once again fact checked another lie.

The slogan "America First" has a complex and often controversial history in American political discourse. It has been used to advocate for both isolationist foreign policy and nationalist domestic policies, sometimes with overlapping and sometimes with conflicting meanings.

Early Origins:
  • The term "America First" first emerged in the 1850s with the nativist American Party, also known as the Know-Nothings, who opposed immigration and promoted American nationalism.

    • In the 1920s, the phrase was used by the Ku Klux Klan, particularly during their peak in popularity, reflecting their xenophobic and racist ideologies.
America First Committee (1940-1941):
    • The most well-known usage of "America First" was by the America First Committee, a non-interventionist group that opposed US involvement in World War II.
    • Founded in 1940, the committee attracted a large following, including prominent figures like Charles Lindbergh, and advocated for American neutrality and nationalism.
    • The committee's activities and rhetoric have been criticized for their association with antisemitism and anti-immigrant sentiment.
Later Usage:
    • Pat Buchanan, a conservative commentator, revived the slogan in the 1990s, drawing on the legacy of the America First Committee and advocating for a similar isolationist foreign policy.
    • Donald Trump: adopted the "America First" slogan during his 2016 presidential campaign and as a guiding principle for his administration's foreign policy.
    • Trump's use of the slogan has been criticized for its historical connections to nativism, isolationism, and potentially antisemitism.
Key Themes and Criticisms:
    • Isolationism vs. Internationalism:
The core debate surrounding "America First" revolves around the question of whether the US should prioritize its own interests and avoid foreign entanglements (isolationism) or actively engage in international affairs (internationalism).
    • Nationalism vs. Cosmopolitanism:
The slogan also raises questions about national identity, cultural homogeneity, and the balance between national interests and global cooperation.
    • Xenophobia and Racism:
Critics argue that "America First" rhetoric often masks underlying xenophobic and racist sentiments, particularly when used in conjunction with anti-immigrant or protectionist policies.
