Power was out for 12 hours….most of it while sleeping but I missed 2 calls. Not a good start to the day but hey no more work so I guess that’s a plus 😂

Having no power really makes me realize how dependent I am and how screwed I’d be without it…I take it for granted way too often 😆
Buy a generator, and run extension cords to your area. I like in hurricane alley, so it essential, I have 2 iriver portable power stations that I plug up right when power goes out to run things until I get the generator set up. For us indoor heads, it’s a life saver. A simple 3000 watt will run the shit out of your gear…….

Yessir, I’ve had it with the constant outages in the summer during these bad thunderstorms. So I’m heading the HD this weekend and getting one for the house. What do you think of a UPS battery backup for the tent?

That’s never a bad idea, you should be able to clock 6 or so hours at 50% power. It’s a great help in a pinch.

Perfect, as long as my lights stay on during flower when they’re supposed to, I can hook up the AC and exhaust to the generator and run the fans, light and monitors on the battery backup. Most times power is back on within 30 min to a few hours at most, but when the storms happen late at night the response is definitely slower.

We're in the hills and out in the sticks... Generators are essential here. I got one large enough to run the whole house (still have to manage AC/water heater usage, but that's small potatoes).

Get one that's larger than you think you need!

So true!

We're working towards being self-sufficient. Water is taken care of. Food were working on (greenhouse), and electricity? Can do without! Although I'm considering building a generator to run off our little creek.

Yes, indeed if you have the loot, always go bigger. I have a 3500 watt just for my grow rooms, but have a separate one for the house. It actually saves on gas to split the load like that, but again, I’m not smart hahaha. bigger is ALWAYS better. I want a generac but just haven’t pulled the trigger. Probably moving in two years so I don’t want to have to have it removed and redone, I’m rambling…..

Yes I love that idea, I’ve seen the down and dirty water turbine rigs. Some gravity and decent water flow……..

For me, a generac is a waste of money in our situation. A bigger portable was enough to run everything. The caveat is that I can either run the water heater or AC... Not both at the same time. But that's easy enough.

We built a dog house for it behind the house, just feet from where the electric comes into the house so the cable run is nice and short to the breaker panel. Electric start and fuel injection is nice to have! If I could get the wife out there in the rain to crank it up, I'd be all set. 🤣

We have a wood burning stove that will run you the fuck out of the house, so no electric needed there. 🤠

Spaceballs the flamethrower 😂👊🏻

here’s to hoping! I mean, you could have just “twisted your ankle”. It’s not like she’s gotta yank a flywheel 😂. You know, I need one of them fancy push button start generators.

What direction are y'all planning to go? Not much farther south for sure!
We have 3 states we are going to be looking at seriously. Moab area in Utah, greater okc, or, grand junction area of Colorado.

Moab 😍
OKC lamb fries @ Cattleman's! Mmmm 🤠
And I've only been to the airport at Grand junction lol... What's it like there in general?

Our plan has historically been to get out west... CO, WY, MT, UT, ID and hunker down.

We made it to Dallas lol

Grand junction is awesome, it’s where the high desert meets the bottom of Colorados mountain ranges, it basically straddles the border with Utah. I have a deep love for that area, the arches state parks. The high desert in general is amazing. in my opinion it a spot where I can get the best of both states. Okc is a hard third option if we don’t find what we are looking for, a slice of land, and a self sufficient lifestyle, my main dream, is hemp fed Colby beef and growing cannabis. “The steaks have never been higher” and a close proximity to a few racetracks 😜👊🏻
