The wife used to. She's the swimmer/diver/snorkeler since she was born and raised in Hawaii. Me, personally, I won't go in the ocean. I don't go places where things can eat me unless I have a good rifle
Hell... I didn't even
learn how to swim until I joined the Army. Drill Sergeant Carrington taught me how to swim. She was the coolest Drill Sergeant in our company. Laid back black lady from Alabama. She wasn't my DS as she was in 3rd platoon and I was in 2nd. But I'll never forget that day and how she assured me she wouldn't let me drown
When I was a very young child like 4 or 5 years old (I remember this like yesterday) my parents and I were on a vacation and stayed in this hotel with a swimming pool. My mom and I went to go swimming and she forgot a towel or something and left for like a minute to go get whatever she was getting, and I, not knowing any better, jumped right in to the pool, thinking it was the shallow side.. It was the 12 ft. deep side

I just remember sinking straight to the bottom and then I blacked out. I woke up next to the pool with my mom having just done CPR on me. After that, I fuckin never touched a pool again, and if I did it was in the 3ft shallow side I would never go past where I couldn't touch the bottom
I had a super phobia of drowning from that little traumatic incident
I'm still not a great swimmer. I could survive in an emergency situation, though. And, I know how to turn my pants into a floatation device
