I built RF and telecom self support towers, guyed towers as high as 1700ft. My step father was an iron worker and built the Philly sky line in the 60’ and 70’s. They way folks did it in the generation before me, they were legit savages. I thought I was a badass but I had multiple lanyards and rope climb, fall stop and J lanyards to clip climb. Before osha it was a man’s game, the weak got sorted out fast. They didn’t even use a belt lanyard 90% of the time. They way those men would scale steel, blows my mind. Miss that shit. It’s heroic just getting to where you have to work for christs sake. You ever hear the term pissing in the wind? 1200 ft up on a crazy windy day………yeah you were wearing some of thatI’m a construction worker . Marine construction, lots of carpentry.
This man has my respect!
