Yes, adding
soluble silica to water can help prevent white powdery mildew (WPM) by strengthening plant cell walls and boosting their natural defenses. This makes it physically harder for fungal hyphae to penetrate plant tissue.

I do supplement with silica and humic for ancillary support. I acquired a couple plants that were from an outside grow that were getting all the rain we recently got hit with. They were treated before I took em but I saw some of the residue and got paranoid, that's all. All I was probably really seeing was the "ghosts of PM past."

Welp, here we go...
4 pbb on the left, 2 cali blues & 1 male maui gas pedal on the right
They should perk back up within a few hrs
I have misgivings about these small rw bits already;
as opposed to coco, they may drain too well

Hey Mike loved the idea, I had some little 1" anvil shaped rockwool cubes that were to small for using for weed so I presoaked some, broke the up and put them in a cup to root some clones. I'm not working with the most viable cuts but I'll let you know. They've stayed perky 3 days in, I'm optimistic.

If you're getting bubble splashes, I'm thinking it should wicker up just fine.

What’s up homies! Finally home for the weekend haha

Little update with the girls they’re all goin wild as hell I’ve just been opening, watering and closing for about a week, tomorrow morning I’ll check em out good for the first time again lol

My thought on letting them ride is i would want to try and feed them appropriately but wouldn’t know how at that point. I’d try and up pot it (i have the space and cant grow a plant with more than an ounce on it so i need all i can get!🤣) if you aren’t trippin on it then, it could be a great learning experience! 🤩
I can’t exactly up pot because I am out of space and humidity threshold. If I had the space, talent and tools I could cut the pot without my favorite pull from the pot that sounds like heavy duty Velcro , my theory is that they will herm from the stress. Instead I decided this is my game plan .

added two to three inches of soil to another pot and now it’s got more root space

Yeah you can't help but laugh but it is very sad. In the depths of an opiate addiction NOTHING else matters but getting your next fix so you won't go through the hell of withdrawal. I speak from experience. About 25 years ago I hurt my back at work and went to a doctor. He sent me home with a script for 80mg oxycontin that day. A month later my back was fine but you can bet i kept going back to get more pills. Fully addicted in no time. Didn't even realize at the time the doc was getting paid under the table by the pharmaceutical company to write as many scripts for oxy as he could. Then after 10 years of this the law cracked down and the doctor cut me off cold turkey. Spent the next 7 years as a pill/ heroine addict getting my fix wherever I could. When fentinal showed up I od'ed and almost died. That was what made me wake up a go to rehab. Been clean for over 5 years now and never felt better. Luckily Virginia legalized growing around the same time I got out of rehab so I threw myself into this new hobby and credit it for keeping my mind off heroin that first critical few years of sobriety. Sorry for the long post, just saying i know how hard it is to recover from addiction.
Aw yes the good ol p80s. No fun when you want to quit even after just a month or two, marijuana is the best alternative organic route 💯💯👊🏼👍🏼 Glad most of us here are chronic cannabis users, I honestly hate getting surgeries and having to use pain killers of any sort, but sometimes it is necessary, I would prefer some natural ooey gooey over that due to it being something organic, but even that is something that should only be when completely necessary.

Ya know, I've tried silica before but only during summer for the triple digit heat and didn't see any difference or improvement.

Never heard this before so maybe it's time for me to dig into the research and start using it in the winter🤔

THANK YOU😉
Si additives are very helpful in maintaining plant health, it's not necessary but can be very beneficial in a few ways

Well I suppose if you went from mid 60's with 90% RH for weeks and suddenly dropped to low 50's with 19% humidity, you'd look pissed off like this too. Poor things are in VPD Hell right now. Meh. They'll toughen up from the experience. 🤣

I pull em out of plastic pots like that intact looking like canned cranberries. 🤣 Also learned to start freeing up the roots when I started finding plants that never crossed into their new dirt after harvesting. Dump the soil it's all loose and that same cylinder shape sitting in the middle. Oof.
