Gnomes gonna castrate me for this but I gotta ask, are a certain amount of hermies acceptable to you and expected? I'm of the mindset that in this day and age that there is an acceptable amount of hermis. For me if I plant a ten pack of seeds and i have 4 or 5 females to choose from I'm happy. I'm I way off base here?

@mittenmedgrow to me no amount is acceptable.I'd never put anything out that wasn't far beyond acceptable.
I do know that there is a % of them though.especially in cookie hybrids.OG hybrids seem to sometimes intersex at about 3-4 weeks too.15-20% will do one of the two in OG or cookie hybrids.most came from Herm's in the first place.
intersexing and full blown herms are different from what I have seen.lots of plants will express both sexes from seed and it never happens again.
I tend to grow seedlings with no more than 6 or so tops so I can get a good look at what is happening the whole time. its easier to catch as well.i trim all foliage not being hit with at least 50% light.this greatly reduces that problem.I've found a few keepers that had popped a sack here or there,I picked them off and it never happened again.
I try to never rootbind a seedling as well.some have told me its because cxlones have spider roots and a seedling has a taproot.either way I don't upset a taproot.lol.

The best offense is a good defense with seeds.everything I grow makes a pilot run,high and tight,safety first,and then I blow it up lol

That's why I inquired about the circumstances bro @g gnome,some people even clone their seedlings and run the clones instead of the seedlings to eliminate part of the bad equation,if that makes sense.either way I hope it gets better.it sounds like you are due.
Tell u what,I did have a light leak once that seeded two crops spring and summer.it was the high noon sun peeking through the trees,into my gable vent,straight into my non insulated intake ducting.I had 4 hoods glow for 15 minutes a day lol.messed me up bad.I looked in there 100 times.lol.I was painting my house and finally saw it with my own eyes.talk about relief,I changed the ducting and it was over
So yes,I hate smoking seed more than anything in the world,and I hate seeing a sack or nanner just as bad.and I hate to see it happen to others as well.

I haven't ran much at all for seeds in the last 5 years or so. Recently started popping and ordering a bunch of seeds. I have a friend from the farm here that doesn't post anymore and he runs a lot of seeds and says he gets a fair amount of intersex plants. I've never heard of some of those things you posted to lessen chances of intersex plants

I have read here recently about the root bound theory making seeds herm but not clones.just seems like testers should always be in a separate room and people doing these tests should be prepared for herms,thats why they are being "tested" right?
I have grown a few plants on my back porch over the years,always from seed.people in my family and even my neighbor 20 feet away turn on outside lights all the time and none of those plants ever hermed on me so i dont get how some minor light leak would trigger mass amounts of herms but i sure read about it alot on this site,light leaks and herms that is.dont make sense.

There was morality, when was this? Must have been long before Gustave Le Bon & Wilfred Trotter began work on crowd control, about the same time Sigmund Freud's nephew (Edwards Bernays) stole all his uncles papers on how to manipulate emotional responses in humans?

It really depends how much the beans were.if i paid £150 i dont really expect herms.a few sterile nanners in the last week or 2 is acceptable but not full blown herms.if i paid $30 for a pack o beans and theyr shit(in my experience people who charge £150 a pack are trying to make up for something else and the £30 packs are usually pretty good) im only pissed at the wasted time.
