I'll have 1 tent with the 1k gavitas and the other with 4 x600w. I reckon 8feet will be fine, these tents were made specifically for gavitas. And considering I used to run a 1000w in a 2 metre tent tall this seems pretty good to me

I have 8 1/2 ft ceilings and have had problems. Its just a matter of keepin ur plants short enuf. If im not mistaken. ....gavitas r supposed to have at least 4' of space between the light and the canopy. The lights will be about 1' from the ceiling at the highest. U got about 1' of pot or planter. So.....
-1ft for lights
-1ft fer pots
-4ft for clearance
Leaves u about 2-3ft for plants
Right?

Yes I'll be topping and training my plants to keep them short and I reckon I'll put my 2 light rails up so that the light source is moving and there's less chance of burn. You're logic is spot on but I'm confident I can wing it, I always do. My last tent had 2 1000w lights and was 40 cm shorter, I'm sure I'll manage with this set up.

Actually the plan is to do 4 largish plants in each tent but I could do 6 smaller and shorter plants and that will buy me a foot. I top the hell out of my plants to stop the vertical growth, always have done. Where there's a will there's a way.

I agree. ....i only have 6" higher ceilings and i make it work. I just thought it was worth mentioning.
