Guys im seing here that lots of you make your own nutes and such is there any real diffrence in buying shop bought nutes seems to be a lot of messing

Well i do use bottled nutes but if im honest im not keen on em.id prefer to learn how to do this "water only" soil that toaster does.

£20 lasts me a good few weeks but i dnt like bottled nutes.but its the soil thats pissin me off.iv got tons o "used soil" and im still buying new soil.(i know theres no such thing as "new" soil but u know wat i mean.) Which is dumb in my book.
toaster wat amendments would u suggest i get to replace nutrition in the depleted stuff?

Actually I do use bottles. Biobizz line, and this run will be pretty much bottle and ACT since I was to lazy to prep my soil in the past 6 moths.

Well if you start composting you will be ready to go in a month. Otherwise use some cow manure but again you need to let it cook for at least a month otherwise it will burn everything you put in there. I use pure CaCO3 to buffer pH and add extra Ca, sea weed, a little epsom, coffee grounds, cow manure ( dried pellets ). Those pellets work as slow release nutes and last through entire grow. You could also use any other shit you find around, anything that feeds of grass will do for high N, banana peels for high K, chicken shit, since your near coast, seagull shit works wonders and is being sold as gold.

I hear people talk about ACT alot but iv never looked into it.so wat is act and wat is its purpose?
please forgiv all the questions toaster.i just didnt know u had learned all this stuff.i tried to learn a bit from sea4 but i just couldnt understand alot of wat he was talkin about.lol.guy really REALLY knows his shit.i got alot o respect for his grow ability

The guy is a walking bible of organic growing. Mad respect.



ACT - areated compost tea


What it does is it brings great ammount of beneficial microorganisms into soil which help feeding plants and you also add great ammount of minerals. Areated because we don't want to feed our soil anaerobic microorganisms.

Hmm i was reading a thread where toaster said never ever use water only i think he was arguing with that manc guy when he said he likes to flush every now and then to stop salts build up which does make sense to me but im also fairly new to this i might have missed something
