#1 Get Good Genetics

#2 Do your Best to Make sure you are actually getting Good Genetics

How? By seeing what the grower and others have do with them.

Like we do here at the Farm

Trust the source

I will add more later :bong2:

Almost been a year for me too. Well not yet, lol, but almost!

#3; pH is one the most important aspects of your grow environment.
#4; Dial your environment. May take a while, but its another VERY important aspect.

In my opinion those are some things i've learned and have helped me a lot.

Good idea Ken!

Where do you recommend getting quality genetics? Seems like it would take some serious time growing from seed then flowering to find the best pheno THEN mothering it....what do you use in the mean time?

Start here...
4 months of work and you got some great smoke and babies ready for your next round.
Before you are started with seeds, find a clone/s if possible and grow it out.. this can take about half the time. Good luck.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to TReFarmer again" That first post is hilarious! I have no patience, so I feel you on that, but I have never smoked two week old bud lol! Definitely made my day...

im going on 2 & 1/2 yrs but the main thing i learned that often gets missed is trimming off the fan leaves in flower to get more lights to the lower growth. bad idea imho. i used to do it but i stopped.

Keep it coming guys!
Don't think more=better especially when it comes to nutes and watering.
Let the water dry out abit instead of keeping the soil always moist.
And before a grow always PLAN PLAN PLAN!

1. Keep it simple
2. Use quality grow products
3. Plan your grow space ahead of time
4. Check with others who know what they're doing before peeing in your plants :D

I've learned in 2 yrs that PH should swing a little. Start a rez off ( if you are hydro of course) around 5.8 and let it wander to about 6.2 or 6.3. At rez change weekly..or every few days in flower when you have 8+ nutes to add to the rez, keep a close eye on it. You want a nice bubbling, earthy smelling water, not bad bacteria which causes clear blooms of colonies. Soon as you see bacteria bloom, change the rez, adding hygrozyme. That's the last, best trick. That and Liquid Karma rocks!

Ps- I grow mostly organic so filter out any advice that doesn't apply to you. :) good luck fellow grower!

Thats funny and familiar! I was growing in 7th grade back in 83 and I put the plants barely hanging below my ceiling bedroom light lol. I also thought back then that herb was a bunch of leaves but then again when your smoking mexican paraquat brick its hard to tell what it is.
