I was doing some yard work and noticed that in my one planter, 10 ft x 2 ft x 2 ft that I built 10+ yrs ago had some wicked awesome rich black earth.
I have also been contemplating brewing up some compost tea and been looking up various recipes. Then I had a thought. I already had a rich mature soil source. Why not use that as a source for beneficial microbes instead of going out and buying more stuff.
So my recipe:
15 L RO water in plastic water jug
~6 cups rich soil
1 cup coffee grinds
3 tablespoons molasses
Air bubbler
Has anyone ever tried this, just using good soil for a brew. Or is this just an exercise in stupidity. Any comments welcome
