That's a lot of heat gonna be trapped up in that hood . I'd spend the $80 more and get the ACde hoods . they move the heat away pretty effectively...DE are HOT

Agree with the previous 2 posters. Check out Sun System lighting by Sunlight Supply. They're by far the industry leader in regard to DE reflectors. They have both air cooled and non air cooled. The hoods are of much higher quality and technology than those of the competition. If you're looking for big non AC hoods check the Agrotech Magnum DE. They're DE Boss reflector is coming in with some of the highest numbers in the industry. It's much smaller and non air cooled also. The AC/DE that someone else mentioned is air cooled fyi, don't know if it will fit your needs.

Air cooled parabolic > air cooled > parabolic > angel wing, imo.

if you want a hood like that, id recommend the Agrotech DE Magnum. Gonna cost you a lot less and its a similar design.

The whole idea and the practical science behind the DE lamps is that when cool air is passed over the bulbs, they lose intensity and spectrum values. Plus to take advantage of what these bulbs are capable of you need a reflector that you can change out every year because of degradation. You cannot do that with those huge metal encased reflectors. Cool your environment, not your lights.
