It's funny seeing the old Polaroids and it brings back memories, my first nude pix of the wife lol still got it too. I was at a party 2 weeks ago and my buddy's 28 year old daughter had a new style Polaroid and they called it a printer camera WTF and the pix are a 1/3 of the size we had. I'm going to have a look.

Here is a pix of my grow back in the late 70's, funny story about the grow. I bought the last house on the street so I had 3 back yards running along side of my yard. The yard that backed onto my garden was owned by a nice old lady who was retired and loved gardening. Well I always tried to avoid going out when she was in her garden but one day she surprised me and the plant was about 18" at this point and she asked me what I was growing, I told her it was some seeds from a friend in Australia and it was Australian Alfalfa, is that so she says. I think nothing of it and the plant just keeps getting bigger and bigger and fucking bigger. Well the whole summer she is making all these comments about Woodys Australian Alfalfa and I'm going what a dumb old broad, well when it was done it was 3 feet above the garage and she see's me looking at the plant and comes over and say's I think you should wait a week before cutting it down and so I says why. Well she looks at me and says Woody what you have there is a very fine example of an Afghan Marijuana plant that is a week away from being ready. I'm standing there with my mouth open going WTF as she explains that she is retired from the local university , she was a botanist and had spent 10 years over there studying farming, she showed me how to cure and make finger hash. We smoked that shit and she told us stories about smoking the pipe over there and making hash, what a great person. Great memory, I can still hear my wife saying what if she knows what it is and I would say how the fuck would an old lady know what a pot plant is. LOL

While were going back in time here are some shots from my 14 month trip across North America on my bike in 1981/82, best trip I ever took in my life. Me in Detroit starting my American part of the trip bottom right, top left, bottom left are Death Valley and top right is BC Canada in the mountains This is just after I left the Club, needed to make myself gone for a while.

I Remember when weed was $10 an ounce I'm sure some old timers here can give us some referrals to old school names.

Here's a couple, weed was called reef, an ounce was called a can, a joint was called a jay. Real Thai stick came tied with the string stripped right off the fresh stock of the plant and deeply embedded in the bud. Colombian Gold was truly yellow gold and Black Afghanistan hash was $125 an ounce came in Burlap and sometimes even had the word Kabul stamped into the hash. Guys/Gals what other types of hash and/or weed do you remember. Peace

Oh yeah...def remember the Thai Stick...didn't come around often but it sure was special when it did. In the neck of the woods I was raised in most of the good herb was grown regionally. Some of the best I remember from back then actually came from the mtns. of N.C. and the hills of Kentucky. I remember that smoke like it was yesterday...you could taste that fresh mountain air in every puff. Love those memories Atomic, thanks for takin me back down memory lane bro. MGG

Oh yeah...some good old memories they are too, MGG! I was VERY fortunate back in the day. My older brother had a friend who was an attorney that did allot of business with the music companies in Nashville. He was back and forth several times a month and he always kept us hooked up with the kind. Most of the weed we got back then was in "lids". A lid was 3/4 of an oz. It was always $10/lid for regs and the good shit was $20-30 a lid. I remember panama red, columbian gold (we called it "cee-bo") AND columbian "red bud"! (That was some awesome shit)! The columbian gold was VERY golden in appearance & had a taste all it's own! I can still remember that taste SO well! The thai stick was awesome! I remember it having kind of a very deep grapey-chocolatey-hashy taste. Joints were called j's, doobie's (or just "doob"), numbers, or "twists". As in "Hey Joe...got that twist ready yet?" ;)

I lived not far from the NC mountains MGG is talkin' about. He's right! There was some amazing bud being grown in the NC/TN mountains! (Still is)! It really did have a very fresh, "clean" taste, & was so easy on your lungs! You'd cough, but it was only from expansion. It cleaned you out and seemed to open you up too as I remember, Good shit! Chiba Chiba: Black Colombian, right up there with the good Thai Sticks.

It was the most compressed herb I've ever seen. It had as many seeds as the Gold/Red Colombian,
but they were all squished as flat as a piece of photopaper.

I saw a block of it once ~71-72, only about a 24 inch cube;
and it was heavy, weighed a lot too Heh--
maybe 20-25 pounds...

Dude u have the same memories as I do, only I remember ounces being called a Lid, we use to get a 4 fingered lid for 10 bucks of brick weed, I remember the good black hash, and the not so good blond hash, and the thai stick OOOOO the sticks of Thai just like u stated, Man I miss them so much, and we use to get the good opiumnated Thai also, that shit was like smoking heroin, u were locked up all day lol, in the late 70's and early 80's, thats when I remember the good Green Humboldt started coming around to, thats when the price and quality change came about, then for awhile u could buy a 1 finger bag for 10 bucks 2 finger bag for 20 and so on, ahahahahah the Good lo days, Man how I wish I new then what I know now, I would be a bazillionair lol......................GM

Damn GM it's like we were from the same neighborhood the good old days me and my friends pooled our lunch money together and bought an ozer every day, huge reefs were called bombers, any of you guys ever use the Cheech & Chong paper from their album or the huge esmerelda rolling papers

Hey Pep I smoked Kona Gold a few times buds were huge and great high. I heard about the canned Hawaiian never had the good fortune to see any of it, I smoked Maui Wowie once A girl friend of mine, sister sent it to her it was the only pure black weed I ever saw, beautiful and I was zomboed ( old time reference to being stoned) off this smoke.

I can't believe you remember the cheeba exactly like you described it I wasn;t sure if this was true I smoked it a few times very compressed and always killer never smoked the lumbo black wish I had.

Haha...love it atomic. I remember the ol cats back when I was a kid talkin about their "good ol days".....now I know EXACTLY what they were talkin about. Who else got some old pics/stories? MGG

Temple ball hash the best and every once in a while you would find a seed. Pure smoking goodness. What I remember most about weed in the 70's was all the sticks, stems and seeds 1/3 fucking bag. Panamanian Red, Blond Lebanese hash, real honey oil that smelled like coconut. But most of all I remembering fucking like rabbits, having weed and drugs at a concert or bar means you not going home alone......
