Time delay relays

I have installed time delay on relays on my lights about 4 years ago. They are set for 5,10 and 15 min. Well today for the first time in about 3 years I heard thunder. About 10 min later a lighting strike took out my lights for about 5 seconds.
Took 3 years to kick in, but needless to say I am glad I spent the time and money to install them. JK

Cool what type are they the CAP models. HID lamps can blow form power outages if they try to restart to fast they need a warm down period before they start back up.
