ive got access to 99% iso but i have only used it for smoakable oil , i have no clue whether a tincture for under the tongue could be safe for oral application with iso.

Don't Use Iso

You need to use an alcohol that you can drink. Any kind will work but you need something with at least 80 proof. Vodka will work I like to use grain alcohol myself. The more weed you use the more potent the tincture. Just add your weed to the alcohol and let them mingle shaking the bottle as often as you can. A week will do, strain the weed from the alcohol and there you go. You can evaporate off alcohol to make the mixture more potent, less required. The taste of a tincture isn't nice, I think the taste of weed sucks. You may want to add honey, vanilla, chocolate or something to overtake the weed taste. Enjoy

propylene glycol based tincture

Do not use iso for this, ethanol alcohol only. I use everclear, some folks have used 151 and vodka with success.

Try this, it's known as a propylene glycol based tincture. Mixing vegetable glycerine and ethanol (everclear) will give you propylene glycol, a known food additive. I also add distilled water and Loran propylene glycol based flavors (hard candy flavoring) to the hash. Good stuff for sure and potent.

I like to use the bubble bags to make hash out of the MJ, making sure to press all the water out. I find it's easier to measure how much is going into the tincture. I have also found that one quarter of some good stuff is about 1 gram of hash when ran through the bags. I use 2parts glycerine to 1part distilled water to 1part everclear as the base.

If not able to use bags, then convert the bud to hash using the green dragon method, again using the 1 quarter ounce to 1gram of hash conversion, not as accurate as bubble bags but not too far off. One plus is you won't have to mix it as much to break down the trichs by using the green dragon method of extraction. Boil off as much of the everclear needed to get the right mixture.

If I use one gram of hash, it gives me two one ounce bottles of tincture, just multiply using the formula if you have more bud or hash to make tincture with. I like that I can make it in small amounts if necessary. I have seen others use one gram of hash for a one ounce bottle of tincture but prefer two bottles tincture.

I start by putting the hash in the oven at 300*F for ten minutes to decarboxylate and then add it to two ounces of the ever clear to break it down. I shake it in a canning jar with a wire whisk ball inside to help break down the hash, which usually takes a few hours of good shaking.

I then reduce the everclear by boiling most of it off in a hot water bath (use much caution, research it if you're not familiar with this, it's easy just be safe and again, research) to one half ounce and add one half ounce of distilled water and one ounce of vegetable glycerine. I then shake it well and add it to my little dropper bottles. I also started adding the Loran flavorings, good stuff, I like the pomegranite and watermelon. I add about 4 drops of flavoring to 1 ounce bottle of tincture.

If you find it's too much alcohol, you can boil off more on the next batch. My brother mixes different oils in his, like pinon nut oil as of late.:hi

Excellent to use sublingually and the flavorings make a huge difference. My wife uses it for migrains, usually one half of a dropper is good for her, 15ml I believe.

My brother uses the atomizer spray bottle, I prefer the dropper but sometimes use the spray bottle. Using the everclear to break it down as much as possible, helps to keep the nozzle from clogging if you choose the sprayer, so leave it and shake it longer.

I hope this helps, if any of you have any questions, just post. I find the glycerine alone too strong for me, just like the green dragon. This method is most excellent.

Do you just let it set out in open air to reduce it?
I just made some with the Kraken Rum and i plan on adding more vanilla once its done.

hot water bath - crockpot half full of water on low for a few hours works well

So i can just take the lid off and then strain it and put it back in the jar with no lid and sit it in the hot water for a few hours then?

I use vegetable glycerin and or apple cider vinegar. The process is super simple and extremley potent. Here's how it's done and what you need:

What you need:
1/2 ounce dried meds
3 cups vegetable glycerin or apple cider vinegar
Glass jar
Scissors
Cheesecloth/Strainer

Process:

1) Chop up meds with scissors "relatively small pieces" DO NOT USE A GRINDER
2) Place chopped up meds in glass jar
3) Add vegetable glycerin or apple cider vinegar "I recommend vegetable glycerin"
4) Close lid and shake vigorously for a few minutes
5) Place glass jar in a dark place
6) Shake jar once a day for a few minutes for 30 days
7) Strain tincture with cheesecloth
8) Your tincture is ready to enjoy :)

wow i make oil all the time but never made a tincture , toasty roadys way seems difficult yet effective , but just lettin it soak in alcohol seems easier . Im worried ill become drunk instead of medicated , whats a good amount to add to a mason jar for a real powerful tinc , cause i have a hard time taking shots so less is better . Can i use vaped material or should i use fresh

Hey paulycali do you think there is much difference in potency between glycerin and alcohol?

how much bud should i use , I would like to drink the least amount possible just cause i dont drink . Im worried about wasting my product but i couldnt imagine it harder to make than oil , should I decarb my stuff aswell?

jeffadies! I think the glycerin is pretty dam good. Quite possibly better than the alcohol. I havent done a heads up comparison. Definetaly tastes better though. Many places sell glycerin. Food stores, walmart of course and online

organicn8! You can use as much as you want. I use 1/2 of meds to 3 cups glycerin. If you want to add more you can just do some math and calculate accordingly. Shouldn't be to hard for ya

Your welcome. That ciders got some bite to it. Now the cider might be more potent then the alcohol. Not quite sure but it just might be. Cider seems to kick in almost instantly afer dosing. I put some under my tongue and then swallow it and within minutes i feel medicated. Some pretty good stuff if you can take the taste. I reccomend trying the glycerin first as most people seem to like it most and then check out the cider. Have fun and enjoy tincture. Peace out
