Tips for a better cloner

Hey there need some cloning help please. Most of the resources I've looked for just tell me how they built theirs.

But I don't want to start from scratch because I have a pretty basic cheap cloner I bought at a hydroponic store a while ago.(shown in pic) I've lately had less success with it. I strongly suspect it's because I lost an attachment on my pump which I suspect was acting as air pump.

But really id like to improve the system overall. And my understanding of it What I'm thinkin of adding is an air stone like this one

I also have a water heater Ive had laying around from when I had to babysit some turtles. Should I use it?

What kind of product should I put in the water? (I currently have nothing but i dip the stems in clonex)

I have an led plan light over the set up, currently on all the time, should I reduce that?

Are my additions a good idea. Anything else you can think of to get more success?

This is an interesting case.
To start with the technique of your clones can be improved by cutting out lower foliage;
a clone should have 3-4 fan leaves, any excess will die off due to lack of supporting root system, and ultimately will cause a delay in the rooting process.
Some people clip the tips of the remaining fan leaves to further reduce transpiration; I personally find this creates undue stress.
Clonex has a liquid product for reservoir solution, it is a great nutrient for young clones after roots begin to show.
Clonex rooting gel is fine but will wash away in a system like this, you can mix it into the solution in minimal amounts. Any IBA works just the same.
Dummy pucks should be used in the empty clone zones to maintain root zone humidity and reduce the chance of pathogens. As well as excess moisture out of the dome. Also wondering if there is a dome used in your process...
Ideally all zones would be filled and then you select your best of the batch.
An air stone or two is absolutely necessary in a system like this, assuming it is a water culture system and not aero.
The use of a water heater is entirely dependent on your ambient water temperature; 70-75F is your sweet spot.

I've had 100% success with nothing but clonex...rapid rooters...and a clone bubble...with a cheap.99c walmart light

A 10 20 tray with a 7" dome or a clear plastic tote. a harbor freight led grow light or a low power cfl or led "less is better". LUMINAR EVERYDAY 19 Watt, 2 ft. Linkable Two-Light Full Spectrum LED Plant Grow light is what I use about 20" above the top of the dome.
A heat mat or in my case I hung a board above my light in my 2x4 tent for space saving and heat.
I use 1 1/2" rockwool cubes (I have used potting soil in solo cups in a tote in the past no nutrients) with a bloom fertilizer ph to 5.5 soak overnight. gently squeeze the cube to ring out some water. take your healthy cutting with a strait razor and put strait into a solo cup with 2" of water untill all cuttings are taken. if just taking 1 or 2 clones let them sit in the water 20 min. I always take my clones longer than needed and do a final trim with a fresh 45 degree cut just below the nodes and dip strait into powder then into cube (solid part of cube not in hole). If you're dealing with a woody strain scrape the surface of the clone near the nodes prior to making the 45 degree cut. pack clones in tray and cover with dome. 21 clones is a set it and forget it for 2 weeks and their done. if only doing a few or a dozen the you will have to spray to keep the humidity up. i will just lift the dome and only spray the dome with a few sprays of RO water. In the 2 week period the cubes will dry out and promote root growth do not water cubes till 2 weeks or you have roots and leaves are wilting. in 2 weeks you will have rooted clones. Once rooted open the top vent in the dome or crack the tote to a acclimate the clones for a couple days before removing the dome.
You can root cuttings in a cup of tap water in a couple few weeks

These are mine (OG KUSH) after 6 days, last pic is when they were thrown into the pots.

Just make sure you sterilize the scissors, do the chop beneath the node, dip in rooting hormone and throw them into their pots.

Use very little tap water, occasional misting for first few days, i kept them indoors and placed near a window so they had light.

Easiest way i know how.

I can only assume the piece your missing is a simple spray nozzle.

It’s amazing what h2o and a bit of bleach can do.

Roots in just 7 days, first time i bothered to take a peek underneath can't believe how think the roots are.

Just used tap water that's it.
