Couple upskirt shots to show how I'm training the self-topped jealousy.

It's growing in a T shape and the middle growth is a fat fan leaf.

I'm more or less going to mainline it's growth out to the edge of the pot then let it grow upwards

RH% is actually around 60% in the tent btw. That hygrometer is reading 75% because it's sitting on the moist soil

Couple more pics as they develop

Jealousy is looking nice and thick. Slowly training its branches to reach the edges of the pot then letting them point upwards

The other plants I'm also pulling their bottom growth out towards the edge of the pot, but since they are very small I'm being careful with them. For the most part I've been tucking the large fan leaves down and out of the way to allow more light to reach new growth.

Should I remove some fan leaves?
I've been debating pruning some of the fan leaves to let light in, but normally I don't remove anything this early... the plants are only about 8 inches tall.. I think I'll wait until the new growth is a little bigger?.?

Looking good so far T.J
4 plants in that size tent will be perfect for a little extra size! I too have a little seedling that looked weird then noticed it had self topped on its own LOL
Growing in soilless mix is awesome, you can really adjust nutrients to each plants needs!!
Dries out quicker which I really like too
Keep up the great grow!!
Cheers

I would def snag the lowest fans that rest in the dirt. I’d leave everything else alone.

Week Four Update
No major news. Plants are all happy and showing good growth since I topped them. I've only been lightly bending/training but since their undergrowth are finally starting to reach above the fan leaves I will focus more on LST.

So far the two Star Killers are matching each other's grow rate thankfully. The 'synthetic' SK is a few inches taller but only because it stretched as a seedling and the 'organic' grew short and low to the ground. Their mass and diameter is about even though so they should be great for feeding comparison.

The first full feeding will be coming up in a couple days so results of that will be in next weeks' update.

I also picked up some Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal Mag Xtra for the synthetic feeding.

I might add Gaia Green Basalt Rock Dust as a cal mag supplement for the organic fed Star Killer..but I think the All Purpose and Power Bloom may have all that's needed (recommendations??)

I bought a Venus fly trap and stuck it in my tent since they like a lot of light. No real purpose although it should eliminate any gnats and winged pests if they happen to appear. I just hope it doesn't eat my jumping spider that lives in the tent.

Week Five Update
Lots of good things happened this week. The plants got a good feed and I also have started defoliating the lower extremities to allow more airflow and light penetration. I have removed all the fan leaves that were not receiving light, any leaves touching the ground as well as some of the small growths underneath.

I did have an unfortunate episode when my furnace died in the evening on January 1st and was getting chilly in the house at night. Luckily it's been unseasonably warm here in Canada (-2C) and only got to about 14C (57F) in the house. Didn't do any harm but definitely not ideal and maybe slowed growth a tiny bit. No big deal. New furnace was installed on the 3rd and things are back to normal now.

Feeding
This week saw the plants get their first major feeding. All plants responded well and appear very happy.

The synthetic plants all fed the full 4ml each of the following (mixed in a 2L bottle):
Sensi Cal Mag Xtra, Micro, Grow, Bloom, and B-52

The Organic fed Star Killer received 15ml of Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 and 15ml of Power Bloom 2-8-4 and 2L of water

All plants got another 2L of water the following day. I will continue these feedings every week with 1 or 2 waterings in between as needed

London Pound Cake

This plant is growing very tall and I have topped it again. I've also opened it up quite a bit by removing lower fan leaves.
I noticed that one of its branches is damaged right at the base where it meets the main stalk - I may have done this while reaching around to work on branches at the back, but I didn't notice when it happened so can only guess. It doesn't seem to have hurt its growth and for now I made a little cradle out of wire to support it.

Week Six Update
Plants got another feeding early in the week and are growing steady. I ordered a trellis net to scrog, but it came late so isn't in the tent yet. It will be in place next week if i decide to use it.
I did a very heavy defoliation yesterday morning. I removed any unwanted lower growths and fan leaves that were either not getting much light, or blocking light to critical areas. I also took out several leaves that were overlapping to make sure moisture is being wicked away properly. This is the most I have taken off plants in one day before and was nerve-racking, but they only drooped for a few hours and looked very happy this morning.

Star Killer (organic feeding)
Growing strong and steady. This plant seems to have more curling around the edge of the leaves than the others. Some are curling a lot. Going to increase its water feedings and maybe reduce nutrients for next feeding and hope that sorts it out.

Similar to the organic Star Killer this plant looks great. Healthy looking leaves, good growth everywhere. This plant looks great. Not curling as much as the organic plant so must have something to do with the food/water

Another great and healthy looking plant. This plant hasn't been topped (since it self topped) but is putting out many offshoots that are all growing well.
