Greetings and welcome to the TJGrow journal.
I’ve been running a journal on 420magizine but I’m still looking for more on line grow friends and THCfarmer seems like a happening place.
I run a perpetual grow moving plants into veg and then on to flower in batches. I do this so I can veg all my plants in a smaller space and most importantly keep my flower room full at all times. I can dry in smaller batches and get the entire operation to fit into my space. The smaller batches have limited the scope of some of my mistakes and allowed me to be more experimental. I figure I give myself a shot at 25% more inventory then big batching.
Here’s the run down on the grow:
Flower room:
I've been using dimming on my lights to control temperatures. I can run them all on 1000w when its cool but when its warm here I have to dim them back. My canopy is uneven so the different light levels aren't a concern.
12’x12’ room
3x1000w 1x600w HID lights
10 inch can fan and filter on room exhaust
6 inch can fan on intake
3 rotating 12” fans, 4 9” fans
12x 3’ by 1½’ trays (2 per batch)
Veg Room:
10’ by 4’ closet
3x125w, 3x40w, 3x30w CFL lights
3 6” fans
2x 3’ by 1½’ trays
Each Batch of 2 trays has its own pump which is moved from water to feed reservoirs as needed. All the reservoirs are in a separate room next to the drain and sink. I use ebb and flow watering by flooding and draining the tubs. The reservoirs are 12 gallons which is the capacity of the trays so they half fill for each watering. I’ve been topping them off in-between watering but can top them from a larger reservoir if I need to be away.
Plants are in rock wool cubes. I use the 6inch cubes. I have been experimenting with adding Coco mat and hyrotron balls to increase the root mass.

My current rotation has been running for 5 months. My first 4 batches have almost all harvested and are drying or curing as I start this journal. Batches 5-11 are in the flower room. The room was setup for horizontal lighting. The last 4 batches are setup with vertical lighting. These will be my last batches before a planned shut down for a needed break and retooling.

Afgan Kush, OG Kush, Granddaddy Purple, Bubba Kush, Blue Dream, Mendo Afgoo, Sweet Tooth
Harvested:
OG Kush, Purple Kush, Afgan Kush, Blue Berry, Hindu Skunk
I’ll be keeping a diary on this and my plans to rebuild my layout here. This is my first vertical light.
I’m planning to go vertical with all my lights next cycle.
