If we r talking vert if agree the bulb can be Dam close. No chance of running vert though. Well if I ran a parabolic or 2 id run the bulb verticle but that's not vert. Lol

If u ever have a chance to on to Facebook and check out Ian malcom. He's kind of a weirdo but a great dude. Has imo the best led lights available. Growers house did a decent review of the lights. Called truth lighting. Its on YouTube. But screw YouTube check out his grows. As of late they are cmh and led but if u go back a ways he was 100 percent led. Dude grows trees man and absolutely kills. Led is def comprable but the price even if we are talking mars is high. Although mars is much more affordable.

This is why I'm saying if price isn't an issue. The lights homebrew runs are 500 bucks a unit. So 2 is going to run me a g. Even good price mars 1600 is expensive vs and 1k hps set up. But if price dosent matter I'm going with cmh.

The bulb orientation is verticle in a parabolic hood. But that's not what's considered vertical growing. Lol.

I switched to philips 860w cmh bulbs... they work in a standard solid state 1000 MH ballast... I run em in a parabolic.

aside from switching to a used 1000hps now in summer due to high temps, I use them in both veg and flower

Cool scan thx.

I think parabolics work best when all walls of room are covered with Mylar so the huge footprint will bounce light all around errywhere.

Hey bro. Are you saying I can buy a 860 watt Phillips and run them off my 1k mag ballast? How does this bulb compared to the dna bulb?

@rubthe nub hell ya bro looks fire! I'm liking mine so far, although I'm not sure it is in fact alien og. The bud this seed came from was very good and definitely an og cross. Time will tell but she's looking great. Probably one of the best plants I've grown from bagseed

Yeah... lol... my bad... solid state is just old school electronic talk...

Solid-state electronics are those circuits or devices built entirely from solid materials and in which the electrons, or other charge carriers, are confined entirely within the solid material.

the solid magnetic core, caps igniters and copper wire are all solid materials... digi's with circuitboards are not solid state... if your ballast is MH it'll run these

http://advancedtechlighting.com/cdmea860.htm

I dont care what anyone says... they run hotter than 1000HPS by a little bit... not sure if its the extra unused 140watts being converted to heat somewhere along the way, but they're hotter.... I'd have one in now but I kept hitting 105-107 degree... with the hps I'm at 100 max and generally around 95....
