Just calling out a few people because I feel you may be able to answer this question. I was considering buying grokashi to use as a soil amendment and a top dressing. After going to the website they suggest using cacao shells as a mulch. What exactly does the cacao shells bring to the table? Are they something that is a must have if I want to start using grokashi? Are they as important as say the azomite. Anything u can tell me is greatly appreciated. @waayne @Seamaiden @Andy Genesis @true grit @Capulator

Hye bud, hopefully Waayne answers. Im going to be picking up some Grokashi this week actually to start adding to the program, but im actually going the other route and will probably just start with fermenting a tea for application to soil. Since im in beds and the soil is already on the 5-6th recycled run, im thinking the teas will have no problem innoculating the growth already existent in the beds.

That's a good question, my first instinct is that it must be something to do with the surface area and perhaps pH of the cacao shells. Interesting.

Not hot but Def warm

I know Im a few Daze back on this but I wanted to share,
I too used my T5 unit as a germination table and I 1st did it I set the plate and bag with the paper towel soaked beans right on top of the light fixture, The beans poped and grew out no Hermy's or issues at all, my Yeti/Moondawg gear I did it with and I have not seen a problem with the moms or clones and I have ran them 3 times
now I use a bath towel under them before setting them on the light.
Happy Holi-Daze

Thanks brother j! They r Def all set. Everything Germed and is above ground and growing nicely. I will be following ur lead in the future though. Never realize how nice and warm that area was. But now that six bulb veg light is now a germination station as well! Have a great Christmas bro!

@Tnelz man I have been using it as a soil amendment, top dress, and fermented tea
It seems to work well any way I incorporate it....
My oldest, most finicky OG's are healthier than ever

I am not using the cacao shell mulch,so I can't address that, other than it does not seem to be that crucial indoors in a container....I seem to get good results without the mulch.....I'd like to try it sometime, but it does not seem like a deal breaker using Grokashi

Oh yeah, contrary to what some of the kids at ICMAG are claiming ,Grokashi is indeed 100% organic
It's working well in my garden, and I'm ordering more today.........

Couldn't have written anything better bro. All the info I need. Been swinging organic pretty hard lately and grokashi is something I've been curious about but haven't made the purchase. Soon as I hit post reply my next move is buying some. Thanks for the info bro. I guess while I've got u here is the tea making a different process than say an aact? If u have the time can u let me know the fermentation process or is it as simple as following the website directions. Again thanks for the wisdom @waayne @Seamaiden and @true grit! Your all awesome!

Thanks @Andy Genesis and @sixstring. Much appreciated! Just ordered two bags. If there is a cheaper way I'd love to know how to do it myself for sure! This stuff just seems to good to not be using! Soon as mine comes in I'll post what's going on. Can't wait. Thanks again!

I've also been looking into grokashi but hadn't found much info until now. Thanks for all the resources!! Been doing my homework reading and researching. Trying to stop feeding all bottled nutes by summer and get on this living soil train:cool:. There's nothing better than that all-natural dank

Very nice. Why wouldn't it be organic? Certification issue, or what?

There is no question it's organic. Icmagers just being stupid. I sometimes will google something and end up there and it's amazing the size of the heads over there. We truly have some of the best growing minds on the planet and hardly anyone has a holier than thou attitude . Lucky to be a part of the farm. It's beyond me why anyone would go anyplace else.

@Tnelz I've been making the tea per their directions,it smells a bit like you're brewing beer:)
I let it soak for 48 hours, then add the molasses and use it....seems weird not bubbling it, but it works well if you follow their directions, and is super easy to make....

Thanks a lot bro. If u r doing it then sir I will be to. Lol. Thank u very much for the wisdom. I'll have my two bags sooner than later and I'll get right to it. Thanks a lot waayne!

For all my fellower DIY guyz/galz... This looks like a good recipie to me, going to use my homemade Em1 then do a comparison batch with store bought.. will report back in a few months on my results in a dedicated thread.

Going to watch the video in a minute. Just read the recipie. I wonder if caps root pack or og special sauce would cover most of the em-1 maybe mixed with microbe life photo plus for the photosynthetic bennies seeing as they say they may be missing. Is this something close to what u would use or am I nuts and there is a way better source out there? Well off to watch the video. Thanks bro!

@Andy Genesis never mind the above. On my way to Google the organic pantry. Lol. Looks like it's beyond cost effective to do it urself. I just spent 40 bucks on two bags. Not prohibitive by any means but compared to the cost of diy it's a no brainer. Thanks a lot bro!
