I've not yet encountered any strain that is truly finished at 8 weeks. Not saying they don't exist, just that I've not grown them. Even when I'm told 8/9 weeks I still believe the plant is better when taken to 10 weeks. Generally speaking, IMO those extra 2 weeks are the difference between a 1 hour high and a three hour high. They may not bulk up any more in the last week, but they mature and the resin develops the full spectrum of active compounds which make the high worthwhile. I HATE underdeveloped cannabis, talk about paranoid inducing, early harvested grass makes me uncomfortable and agitated around even my closest friends. Basically the opposite of medicine. This right here is precisely why I avoid sativas. Talk about throwing me into an anxiety attack from hell. I use cannabis to alleviate those issues not to exacerbate them. I've had G13 and that was a decent smoke though I don't think it was grown to it's potential. The dispensaries here are right in line with all the other places it seems that pull at 8 weeks regardless of strain or plant maturity. Just after pushing product out the door to make that money. Makes it a real deal breaker for legitimate medical users imo.
Since they put me in such a happy place, I feel bad for you folks that can't handle sativas, but gladly there are plenty of Indica and hybrid expression for you to choose from.
I think the only plant I've not really enjoyed was Herojuana. I smoked some and literally did nothing for two hours, just sat in a chair and stared at the wall. Conversely, I love Herojuana hybrids, what the hell is that about?
