My roots are growing great still. There is still some light brown on some of them but they are growing so fast the white is completely overpowering the view of the light brown. I think they are fine. They have doubled in size since I brought it up. I did duct tape the bucket it is dark now.

I am about at the end of veg with my dwc. Gonna pull this Lil bitch out of the dirt (wasn't for me) that is in flower probably won't even get a quarter oz. Just couldn't do it correctly in the dirt. One of you guys could have pooped in my soil and made it grow better. Dwc on the other hand is BANGING, big and beatiful. I am at the potential for 40+ nodes on a plant that is roughly 6 inches tall, maybe 2 ft in diameter. Maybe it is because I liked to mess around and check on ph regularly, I just follow the directions on the bottles for feeding and calimag. But, yeah this is my first dwc. Did it in soil in high school, tried soil this year and realized I needed to grow faster. Sooo, I did only used to grow in soil as you said, and I'm trying dwc and loving the "black and white" guidelines. Waaaaay easier to grow a plant that it technically always overwatered compared to soil.

BTW you are all where I want to be when it comes to professionalism, knowledge, and growing experience. Thank you all for your help and work in the industry.

Cool, so I don't have to go & find one lol.

Sometimes I get a little verbose (I'm a freelance writer, it's what I do) but that was the main point I was trying to make. Strictly in my opinion, I think someone on their second or third run would grow overall better plants in a simple hydro setup. There is very little gray area. That gray area is, from what I have seen, where the beginners tend to fudge things up. Grow how you want to grow, no medium is "best", & all the products will be different. All I'm saying is, I think the people with only a notch or two on their belt would do better in dwc. I also think the clarity of the 5-1-4 numbers etc would help them get a better grasp on how the plant is working at different points. Growing in soil afterwards would be less foggy in my opinion.

That's why I sing the praises of those who do soil & do it well. There is a lot of "gray area" in soil. If you want to grow killer plants, you have learn enough about what is going on down there, so that the gray area, to YOU, is very small. That involves a lot of practice & knowledge. It's not easy, nope, not at all. You can grow a plant in soil & come out the other side ok...I'm talking about crushing it in soil.

Totally agree on the last part. I think this place & almost everyone I have met in it, are a class act. I would take this forum above any other. This thread in particular has a lot of good guys in it, & the best bud porn.

@Power OG what the smoke report like on the Forum, does yours taste like lavender? I guess I need to try it again or grow it myself to really judge it cause I really didnt like it when I got a chance to try it, but hell I really didnt like anything all the Og's smoked exactly the same from the Tk to the LHB to the SFV, I couldn't tell a difference, I am super picky I'm killing off all of my mothers today except five.

Dwc sounds super easy to me honestly. I will try it one day no doubt, possibly this winter. That would be my only issue is water temps but in the winter it shouldn't be a problem.
DWC is super easy to do and even easier to fuck up, water temps are the least of concerns you better be worried about getting a pump or multiple pumps to keep the water aerated. And if you around other people then you got to hide the humming from your pumps, annoying! Now you gotta deal with PH and Ppm swings. But once you talk care of all of that it almost cruise control!

Fuck. Infarmary!!
Spending a little time in my veg space, noticed some "leaf sucker damage" i dont have a pic...

I pulled the affected leaf and found tiny white little fuckers. Two of em. Almost microscopic. Looked kinda like tiny white fungus gnats.

Tossed the leaf before a pic. Couldnt find anymore.....

Ill try n find a pic on the farm, but i was hoping someone had a pest control idea for smaller then spider-mite leaf suckers indoors

i find its super tasty very floral, i think its taste and bud density are its strengths. The high is great but lacks on length of high. She definitely worth keeping, one the wifes favorites and definitely one of my top3 seller's.

It's funny you say that man because I've recently scooped up or am in the process of grabbing a few OG's and I hear so many people talk about the differences between cuts, most likely justifying keeping 5-6 different OG cuts, and that just seems rediculous to me. Why would I wanna use up that many mother plants, especially when I have my limits, on basically the exact same bud. So hearing someone who is as good at what we do as you, makes me feel like it'll be a lot easier to choose one to keep.

So yes or no? ....A large infestation of fungus gnats during flowering could stunt growth and prevent bud sites from forming?

I ask bc i thought i got rid of my outdoor fungus gnat prob but realized today how sorely mistaken I was when i noticed MILLIONS...2 of the 3 smaller plants i got going seem to have completely stopped growing! its like they are stuck at week 2 of flower. They are not growing vertically anymore and only have a few bud sites and they are SEVERELY underdeveloped compared to the other 4 plants i got going out there....Im sad bc one of them has such amazing structure and inter-node spacing i wish i was cloning it...i guess i could re-veg it but i dont think im gonna do that bc i don't wanna rist bringing even 1 bug inside....oh well....ill never plant late outdoors again and wast seeds

Yes if the infestation is bad enough and the plant is overwhelmed it can def mess up the grow.

In veg, you can stall a plant...but if you can control the light cycle, you can get it to approx the same growth. Because veg mode could be theoretically forever. Even if you go to flower & then re-veg, you could stay in veg theoretically forever. Flowering time is based on the plant genetics & environmental interactions. If indeed something stunted it, that time can't be made up. Flowering time is always limited.

That's why you have to maximize that flower run. There will be variance for how long it takes depending on the environment, but it is always limited.

Although I don't believe it's as dire as this sounds...Every day in flower counts. No need to jump off a bridge over a blunder, but fundamentally, during flower, you're goal is to make every day as perfect as you know how, so that it makes the most of it's limited time.

In other words, the goal is not to fudge up lol.

I am definitely not ready for n.w.o. I have one pistol for protection I keep in my nightstand. Won't let anyone take my family away. I also have about 9000 calories worth of m.r.e. to be able to hit the road without stopping if I have too. I am minimally prepared. I hope it really doesn't happen. I would like to just continue growing in peace @chillywilly
