If you go buy a security light or even the sun system and want to "remote" the ballast; just make sure to keep the wires the same as they come. You can keep the plant the whole life under the hps, but "may" have more node space. If you get an electronic ballast for 150 EU (100v) HPS; then it will also run a 150w MH or CMH. (more cost though).@MGRox I just don't know how to wire to ballast and can I use threw plants whole life cycle? And would it get to hot in a closet. I don't have ventilation just small fan
For cooling, I recently ran a 2x2 space with a 150w HPS. The room air that was drawn in, was around 75f. I had a 100cfm computer fan that exhausted out of the space and it stayed 78-80. It does produce heat but not a huge amount I suppose. If heat does prove an issue, then you may choose to head to LED's (in the longer term).
