So if i did decide to get a 4x4 veg tent do you think a mars 700w would be enough for it? The footprint for the mars 700 says its 3.5x3.5, do you think i will need to get so supplemental lighting? If so what kind cfl or led? brands?
Orrrrrr Should i just get 2 4ft 8bulb tf fixtures and call it a day? Input welcome!

It will work but I'd go the 900 get a true 400w it's what I run in my 4x4 . If you add some side hps like 150 watch them say thanks . :fire:

im confused...are you telling me to get the mars 900? whats a true 400w? like a 400w MH/HPS?

The Mars 900 draws 400 w . I also use some hps kickers to speed things up .

i dont know what you mean by hps kickers? Is it something i would need an additional ballast for? Could you give me maybe an example id find on amazon or another site? Please and thank you

Man why do u want one of them you can just duct tape 127 of them little curly lights all over ur tent and get the same result. My buddy used 142 and his looked even better!

I know and i want one bc i know what a bad ass job they do but if i get one I would much rather us it for flowering and i already have a 1k light so what? I would put the 1k in my 4x4 veg and the double ended 315 in my 5x5 flower tent? I think getting the led for the 4x4 and keeping my 1k for my 5x5 flower until i can afford a bigger flower space, then i will deff add a 315 or 2....but thanks for the suggestion buddy!

Hey guys so today as my lights were going off i am 99% sure i saw something like a bug move around the top of the soil in one of my plants. My ninja fast reflexs worked against me and i smushed the bug so fast i didn't get a chance to see what it was and i couldn't find it afterwards. I have been beyond careful to not bring anything foreign in my tent area bbut IDK. I already have a bunch of thosse yellow and blue sticky sheets and some gnatrol so if it was a fungus gnat im good but i have one of thoses yellow thing hanging and nothing has gotten stuck to it since i put my plants in there. That and im pretty sure whatever i saw was bigger then a gnat. Now it is possible that some random bug that is no harm to plants got in my tent from my basement and i am totally overreacting but to be safe i wanna get something to be ready. should i get:
1) that green clean stuff for PM and mites?
2) a bottle of Aza-Max
3)or a bottle of Big Time Exterminator??
Im gonna buy something today so any suggestions are welcome....or i guess i could get that neem and karanja combo from buildasoil.com??? Hmmmmm I just dont know

The 1200 will do a 4' x 4' tent just fine. I used that exact setup for over a year. It does an excellent job in veg. Obviously, don't flower with it. It's not strong enough.

I mean, you can flower with it, but it's not very powerful. Buds are lighter/fluffier than with HID. Depending on the strain, my HPS will make rock hard buds. The Mars, even the tops getting the most light will not be super dense/hard.

For a veg tent though...all thumbs up.

The reflector version is just that. Less leds because each one is housed in it's own little reflective "hood." I've never seen them in action.

Be aware that the 1200 will dump a lot of heat into the tent. It's not cool by any means.

Well as long as its not as hot as my 1k hid i think i will be fine....you think it will put off more heat then the 1k mh im running right now?

Yea well its either that or 2 Hydro Crunch 4ft 8 bulb T5 fixtures and i would put them side by side in the 4x4. I think the mars 1200 will give them a better spectrum for veg, don't ya think?
