So I’m just wondering what you guys’ feelings on fox tails are?

I personally think when it’s genetic and makes buds look like the everlasting Gobbstopper from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that it’s really cool and pretty…

But when it’s stress related and the little towers are thin, stemmy, and isolated to only a couple really tall stacks…it’s ugly hahahaha.

What do you guys think?

I dont mind if my runtz foxtails a bit but I dont know about other strains. Runtz foxtails very nicely, you have the firm bud and then firm foxtails, no fluff at all, very tight plus it makes it super easy to clean the leaves before you smoke it. Still I would assume that for the most part is not something people do on purpose unless they get a rare full foxtail pheno. One problem about foxtails is that usually they mature after the buds and then if youre looking at the trichomes you have to consider that so the bud below doesnt over ripe. With runtz they mature at the same time because its prone to foxtail early on if youre pushing light, and yield wise I find it worth it, but like I said thats just because I have years of experience with that strain, I wouldnt feel comfortable with any other strain foxtailing on me until I see if its good or not.

I agree with this!

It’s pretty when it’s fat ha ha ha!

I like the theory that they foxtail genetically if they came from a place with high humidity to sort of spread out.

Also a lot of concentrate makers are looking for foxtail traits because they wash better than a dense rock!

It was explained to me like if you make a fist and roll it in sugar and then try to wash it off versus rolling your entire hand and sugar and washing it off. There’s just more surface area at work with.
