Hey growers an old timer told me that cannabis plants like ashes when they are flowering. I put some around my plants like 3 cups per plant of burned wood ashes . The plants are about 4 weeks flower outdoor grow.

It’s true to an extent,
Generally speaking yes as long as what got burned was bio degradable.
3cups per plant, sounds close. as long as it isn’t more than two inches thick, and it should be scratched into the medium with a fork to spread it in.

It's good stuff , the potassium in there gives you firm buds, ashes help with water regulation in the plants...keeps the slugs away too. It could have an effect on soil pH . Make sure the wood was organic, organically grown no chem treatment. I live in the commonwealth of Dominica, we usually just heap up dry grass, leaves and shrubs from forested or fallowed areas into a pile burn and collect that. I like it especially during the early days of flowering.

We have some fires going on here in Southern California and the wind will blow the ashes for miles. There's one going on about 80 miles from here (Line Fire) and when it hit cars all over here were covered with ashes. Then it dawned on me, now I know how the desert gets fertilized!
