Topping Outdoor Plants

What do you mean? This is exactly how I am trying to get my plants. I always end up with two forks after topping and just like it's been said, one of my plants ends up splitting in two. I can usually tape it back up and it'll heal but I am sure the stress during flower fucks it up to an extent.

I use two small bungie cords to bend the tip over, I get a round plant with at least a dozen colas
