Topping pics?

At the risk of pissing everyone off(sorry) i'm not sure what you cut off when you top a plant? is it the whole stem? anyone got any pics(i learn better visually) of a plant in veg that is before and after so i can see what i should cut off? i guess after topping instead of one, two new growths begin?

cut the newest growth fron the top...there should be lot of articles pictures here on the farm if u search around i guess...
