Tops and Clones

Need to top some of my ladies tonight, was wondering if I can use the tops as potential clones? I ask this because I remember reading its better to take clones from lower down due to the rooting hormones or something??? What ya guys think?

I use tops. I want the fresh, rapidly growing material as my clones.

I have used tops many times without a problem. I try and keep my moms short and bushy so I take cuts from the tops quite often. Good luck Giant

i always take clones from the best looking shoots whether its tops or bottoms. i do prefer tops cuz it opens up 2 new clones next time i take cuttings but any healthy spot will work .

tops all day. i take cuts from the thickest branches i can.

if you need something for rooting grab some Dip'N Grow...most everything else sold for rooting is snake oil or overpriced/diluted DnG.

Thanks guys, I will be topping and cloning today! Is there anything to the less rooting hormones in the top farther away from the root ball?

Remember to take atleast a 3 inch cut off the top, and as long as its not to thick you it should be a good clone.

tops make great clones. any growing tip is good. if ya need to prune ya plant, if ya had the inclination, ya could make ever trimming a clone!
