transplanting into dwc

I just germinated my seed in rockwool its begininning to sprout a little bit.

i want to transplant now so i dont have to worry about it when the roots are exposed to prevent shock...

should i topfeed the plant in the hydroton until the roots are coming out of the bottom or should i fill the water in my 5gal dwc high enough so its into the hydroton in the netpot until the roots are coming out...

its a pretty standard question i just dont know which is best?

how should i go about doing that? if i just water the hydroton thats on top of the rockwool ill be fine right? water will seep down and theyll be good?

and whats a good indicator that i need to water it? i would imagine the hydroton on top would dry out quickly but there's still probably water all through it
