Trimming pistils for increasing size & density

I gave a plant 8 haircuts. It's a clone of unknown origin and, according to the information I've read, is likely to be an indica strain which I really don't need more of.
I snipped the very tiniest amount of green growth along with -6 pistils. If anything I erred on the side of caution so there may not end up being a noticeable difference.

Yeah lst is a different matter to topping

im well aware of what topping is.
You’re saying some plants dont like LST and im saying thats bullshit. They’re not the same. Topping lops off above a node, that triggers growth at that node. LST triggers growth across the whole plant, they’re nowhere near the same

If the main grows up and its obstructed in nature the plants sends hormones to the other tops. Its an evolutionary mechanism and all of the plants have adapted to do it lol

Edit.

I think i misread the shit out of your post. I first read “manner” instead of “matter” lol

I think you misread/ misunderstood totally
I did so in the first place it’s why we ended up here 🤣

I said lst was a different matter meaning it doesn’t slow growth down & isnt something some plants don’t like.
IE I was agreeing with you

Alls good bro it’s the net it can be easy to misread ( misunderstand ) especially as I didn’t elaborate
I’ve done it loads 👍🙂

My eyesight has really went down hill this past year. Ive been putting off going to an optometrist, maybe i need to get around to doing that 😆 my bad

I know. I can be a real dick about shit sometimes. Always looking for more & better😬. I hear it all the time, "why didn't you leave well enough alone!"
Never have and prolly never will.
There's always room for improvement.
Howard with your personality for better just saying never buy a race car.......😜
Nice grow.
Now the topic of training pistles is weird until you are the first guy to miss a top and accidently got 4 stems from a technique now known as fimming. If stuff is never tried we never know.
I say drive on. I do a few things I do not see in diaries. I have started weighing my pots to confirm lightness of pot for watering. I used to just pick them up but graphing and tracking over a 5 week period showed me putting the pot back in about 15% of the time as not ready. Now on start up pots are weighed before putting into service and tracked.
Carry on with new ideas.

Now if we could just get the light manufacturers to make a round light for cannabis with the weakest part in the center and the strongest part at the edges like the plant naturally grows. Then make the lights energy adjustable by zones.

You can make your own custom grow light as I'm sure you know. I was going to make another light but it turns out one can buy one cheaper especially used.
For a "custom" light it would be worth it IMO. Thankfully I don't see the need😬.

All the flower now have an orange spot where the I clipped. I hope this is not blood? It can't be blood right? But what else can it be? Nah, can't be blood. Damn, I think it's blood! 🤔
😜
Is it normal to have frosty leaves next to the top flower? I zoomed in and it looks like tricomes?? I never noticed this in my 1st grow but I was so lost in so much information maybe I didn't notice. Nah, I HAD to notice right 😁.

Trichomes on nearby leaves is definitely normal.

Did you trim the bud or your fingers, bud? Sorry, bad word play joke.

The browning spot is probably just that part dying off or maturing rapidly. See if you can get a high magnification image of that spot.

I hope it works out for you. Flower is the absolute worst time you want to unnecessarily stress your plants. A pin size hole in your tent or a light from a surge protector can trigger nanners and pollinate your whole tent, imagine what the response to hacking at buds can be. Best of luck.

I'd like to point out a couple of items:
I'm practicing the FAFO method in my growing. It's a practice many employ in growing 😬. We need a FAFO sub?

A pin size hole in the tent absolutely will NOT cause ANY harm
Nuff sed.

Where did I say I hacked up the plant?

I am always amazed at the difference between the content of an internet post and the comprehension manipulation some people form in there heads. IMO it speaks to the average thought processes of the individual. Think Adam Schiff.
Prove me wrong 🙄.

Light leaks absolutely will cause herms, especially with unstable genetics. Bud mutilation is hacking up plants. It appears something I said bruised your ego.

You do you, man 😆

My favorite part so far is “whats this brown shit all over my bud?”

Go crazy dude 😆🤣🤣🤣

If it was some old timer with hair to his shoulders..he was doing it to remove the light burnt tips off the top.
Does it count if a grasshopper does it lol.🦗 A couple weeks ago, inspecting a top, I found a green grasshopper grrr. Exactly same color as the African plant. Ugh it had munched 1/2 way down a whole branch. 🧑‍🌾🐱

i love lst but no matter how low you put the main top end of grow main will be the fattest

I'm only on #2 but I have learned about manifolding and similar types of training. It seems to make great sense to me as all of plants branches are coming off of the main stem. Theoretically each branch gets the same amount of the good stuff that makes them grow up to be close to the same height.
I'm curious why most growers don't use this type of training. Is it the time required during veg?
