Trophies?

Curious what trophies and points mean? As in what do they do, exactly?

Are they simply there to boost our egos, encourage us to post "likeable" posts, or simply for shit and giggles?

Apparently I'm seriously likeable now. Of course, that's what all the chicks say anyway. :p

I guess you could say they're really more like a popularity gauge than anything else. But I've always thought that originally the intent was to help folks figure out who knows their shit and who doesn't. It's not that easy.

I see. Comes across as being kind of useless. I mean, I never check what other people have in terms of points or whatever (if you even can?). But what do I know? Maybe it works as it should.
