Hi. Well, this grow started 9-07-24 when I popped the first 3 of 4 seeds I planted.
Along the way, I made the mistake of too much light and or heat to start. Live and learn, but lost one seedling after a week.
The others survived. I have 2 that are from the 9-07-24 start date and then started a Black Phoenix (BP2) on 9-20-24 which popped 9-22-24.
I am working with Dirty Bird genetics DARK SOUL (DS1 and DS2) and BLACK PHOENIX (BP2 started 9-20-24)
Basic setup, 4x4x6 MELONFARM grow tent, 2 fans, top vent/fan outside of tent and 2 simple "cheapo" LED strip lights.
Using ECO EARTH coco bricks, started with solo cups and transplanted to 5 gallon pots.
Added to the 5 gallon pots, coco, small amount of worm casings, pearlite, and 4-4-4 gaia green.
Use pH down as the tap water here is pH 8.
The light issue was due to placement of lights way too close to start.
note: even at 2 feet, I lightly scorched the BP2 seedling, but it perked up when I moved the fixtures to 3 feet away from plants.
The second set of leaves look great at this age (10 days old for the BP2)
Included are pictures of the kids and their progress at this point.
In the pix, you can see evidence of the light (and or heat) burn on the Black Phoenix seedling and the first set of true leaves on the Dark Soul DS2.
DARK SOUL is a "tester f1" variety, so kids could be male or female, as far as I understand.
