So, let me understand your reason...you want to try to see what way to kill your plants easier? To do this sounds like nonsense, but if we substitute some of those words around it should sound more like this.... basically, you have to grow weed without killing your plants to know if it is a success or not. Now that is more positive sounding , and it comes from experience

Oh lord I don’t think your understanding the concept.. and I don’t have the patience to explain the basic principles of an experiment but if you would like to learn more visit your local library or click the link below

You don’t understand the basics of and experiment If you do you would understand why I have a control ect. But just to try to make it simple.. Im not trying to kill my plants easier more so trying to find a sweet spot in nutrients, medium, products etc. for premium product and what better way than to try different products, methods, mediums.. etc. for example.. if this experiment shows concrete results you can see that the plastic bare bones pot burns the plants then that will show that FFOF by itself it’s too hot for early stages .. every single little thing means something.. every action has a reaction and w this experiment I’m looking to record those actions and the plants relative reaction..

Help me out here fellas .. idk how else to explain this

Also I’m kinda at a point where money and time isn’t really that big of an issue.. I’m sure your experience could lap mine 10 fold .. I just turned 25 and i did my first grow in miracle grow ( don’t laugh) about a year ago outside, during the winter, following the sun and it yielded about a quarter oz.. But curiosity made me want to see what happens if I keep watering.. that’s when the bug hit me and I’ve been a avid review watcher/ article reader/ podcast listener.. I worked at my city’s flower garden so my knowledge isn’t nil but I feel with cannabis it’s a different game..

I'm sorry I don't understand your way of thinking that you need to do experiments to find a sweet spot. I am able to follow my plants growth by looking at them and reading the leaves to know when they need something or not. I guess having over 30 years growing experience gives me a much different perspective to understanding, as opposed to someone who doesn't know. No need to to think your are somehow more knowledgeable on how to conduct an experiment through your sarcastic remarks. I was trying to help you get growing, but hey you have over 500 hours of research. Good luck.

30 years ago they were lumen meters to measure light LEDs was like a Sifi concept.. I don’t even think IR was even thought of .. this might be my fault cause they didn’t even cover the experimental process when you where in school huh .. I forget who talked about it but I think it’s called the law of minimum.. there’s a minimum level of everything you can give a plant to survive as well as a Maximum level but I’m looking for the optimal level with actual numbers to back it up.. not bro science.. it’s cool you read the leaves and know what they need but wouldn’t you rather read the leaves and know what they need , why they need it, how much they need, the best and easiest way to give it to them, the best time to give it to them, what it will do for them, how the product will not only work with the plant but the life in the soil ect.. it’s a lot more than just flipping on some HPSs popping some seeds and reading the back of the bottle now pops .

AND HOW WOULD YOU ACTUALLY KNOW? YOU HAVEN'T GROWN ANYTHING … and, why would I ever want to kill my plants to actually know some outrageous number to back it up by, when I am not experiencing any problems ???? I guess if failure is your way of finding success, I think I will stick with my old fashioned way of knowing how to grow, and not fool myself that I am succeeding when I am not You know that 2+2 still equals 4, regardless if you are accustomed to using the new math or not

Probably time for a smoke break I think that would be the most productive course of action at this point.

Obviously you’re 30 years of experience doesn’t compare to 500 hours of internet research! Get with the program dummy.

So if we’re clear you believe a proper experiment resulting in concrete evidence to obtain optimal results won’t correlate directly to consistent success in the future

Re read what I said .. he knows way more than me by miles.. but as for ruling out an experiment as a good way to find optimal results as just asinine and blatantly ignorant to say the least.. that’s like when old guys say Lebron wouldn’t be good in the 80s and 90s .. it’s like dude no matter how you put it old shit and old methods and old techniques don’t compare to new ones at all.. while they might be the similar everything new is almost always improved .. so what took him 30 years to learn I can watch a time lapse and listen to an actual botanologist explain the whole rhyme and reason in 30 min.. the sad truth is times are changing and you either change with them or get left. Behind

I'll disagree with that 100% because I already know for sure that in many areas the new methods suck rotten dirt.
And that is from personal experience.

But you like to learn by experiment. Nothing wrong with that.

WTF??? You just don't get it! You are here looking for advice on equipment, nutes, etc., to achieve grow success... and then in the same breath, you (NOT ME), brings up some nonsense experiment idea about giving minimums to acquire some magic number to kill a plant(s), and achieve some kind of success by that. This is an oxymoron, pardon the pun I came here to give you advise this evening, and from your comments to me have been nothing but sarcastic and disrespectful, like you have some sense of entitlement, yet you have nothing to actually show for it Here's my conclusion already to my proposed hypothesis...IF you ever do get to grow a plant(s), and you manage to finish, I bet your plants MATURE before YOU do

Gentlemen. You are both talking about different things and wondering why the other fails to understand.
Best let it rest for a bit. Go smoke one.

Exactly I’m simply explaining the act of conducting and experiment will provide you with the accurate information you need to determine what’s the best methods etc.. not skill.. not experience or any of those factor although they do matter I’m only focusing on the act of trying different things to see what works.. I didn’t know this was so frowned upon

The cool thing about this site is the experienced growers who are willing to help less experienced growers without an attitude. That said, I’ll take a ban - you know jack shit. On any other forum - you’d been laughed out of town after your first post. People have been growing plants for over 100,000 years and doing just fine before Super Bubble Gum Gooey Bud Booster was developed. The idea that you can watch a 30 minute video on wood working and ready to be the new host of the New Yankee Workshop is laughable. Come back after you’ve popped a few thousand beans. No one gives a rats ass about about what you read on the interweb, it doesn’t equate to actual experience or knowledge. There’s a ton of old school growers who keep up with the science. Mainly because they’re people who like to learn and aren’t all tied up in some sophomoric idea of their superior knowledge.
